Scream 4 in Development?

It seems that another installment to the hit horror franchise Scream is in the works... maybe. According to iF Magazine, Jamie Kennedy, who appeared in the first two films, revealed that a fourth Scream film is coming together.

"I actually had a conversation with somebody very big in the organization, and there's a way," Kennedy said. "I don't know what's going to happen, but they have plans for a lot of things. You can see new faces that you wouldn't expect and you can see old faces that you wouldn't believe. There's a way to bring a lot of things around."

When asked if director Wes Craven would be involved, Kennedy confirmed that it's "the only way they're going to do it."

However, Bloody-Disgusting has gotten word from Wes Craven's assistant who said she's "99.9% sure that Wes Craven has yet to be approached for the project, contrary to reports."

We'll have more on this project as soon as more information arises.

Scream was released December 20th, 1996 and stars Drew Barrymore, Kevin Patrick Walls, David Booth, Carla Hatley, Neve Campbell, Skeet Ulrich, Lawrence Hecht, Courteney Cox. The film is directed by Wes Craven.

Well, that's my point exactly, 2 and 3 brought nothing to the table, don't know how making a fourth will either. Of course I want the 4th to be good, I just don't think it will be, and therefore shouldn't be made. Once again, money talks. I think the last films showed that the series had nothing left. However, it's going to be done, and will probably do well at the box-office.

I agree with you too Moviebuff, there's no new modern-day heroes. Where's the invention? At least films like TDK show that an old franchise can still do the business IF done right, but that's the hard part, isn't it?

No no no! Don't even think of mentioning Spiderman and The Dark Knight... You know exactly what I mean. Besides most of the comic book heroes were created 40 to 70 years ago. Just wanted to post this juuust in case you THOUGHT about it. haha

Nyfresh and err... don't know if you're being sarcastic or sincere with your comments (hopefully the latter), but even so... CAN you name any theatrical heroes in today's cinema? Cause, I'm trying real hard, and besides Bourne, I simply can't.

Are there any? Or is it me just drawing a blank?
