SCI FI Launches Tin Min (Based on The Wizard of Oz) Website
Rather than mirroring the look of the miniseries, the artists were encouraged to create their own visions of the O.Z., using Tin Man's storyline as their guiding inspiration. The resulting artistic collaboration is in an unforgettable and immersive digital experience that melds their original visions with scenes from the miniseries, photos of the cast, and information about the storyline, characters and environments. Users can either sit back and enjoy the presentation, or take a more active role by pausing the presentation to explore the world of Tin Man through the multitude of video, photo and written materials enriching the site. Infinite O.Z. was produced by renowned production company B-Reel.
SCI FI's three-part, six-hour original miniseries event, Tin Man, will premiere on Sunday, December 2, 2007 @ 9-11pm ET/PT, and air over three consecutive nights. A deliciously twisted take on L. Frank Baum's children's literary classic, Tin Man is a sometimes psychedelic, often twisted and always outrageous take on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The mini tells the story of DG, a young woman plucked from her humdrum life and thrust into The Outer Zone (the O.Z.) - a fantastical realm rife with wonder, but oppressed by dark magic. In the adventure of a lifetime, DG discovers her true identity, battles evil winged-monkey-bats, and attempts to fulfill her destiny.
Her perilous journey begins on the fabled Old Road that leads to a wizard known as the Mystic Man. Along the way, she is joined by a decidedly strange trio of companions - "Glitch," an odd man missing half his brain; "Raw," a quietly powerful wolverine-like creature longing for inner courage, and "Cain," a heroic former policeman (known in the O.Z. as "Tin Men", for their tin badges) seeking vengeance for his scarred heart. Ultimately, DG's destiny leads her to an emotional and terrifying showdown with the scintillatingly wicked sorceress Azkadellia, whose ties to DG are closer than anyone could have imagined. DG's life, as well as the very future of the O.Z., hangs in the balance. Tin Man stars Zooey Deschanel, Alan Cumming, Neal McDonough, Kathleen Robertson, Raoul Trujillo and Richard Dreyfuss.
