Hally Berry's deflated, melodramatic bags aside, I really doubt Marvel will have any trouble selling this movie.

not sure what everyone is worried about. i think she'll be great for the role. i do think the accent will be the hardest part for her but i'm sure she can pull it off, and WOW, what a beautiful woman. on a side note, itchy is that really what they call you, so sad, it sounds like you are sexually frustrated. seek help!

Well... I guess I trust the director's choice and everything for this, and I'm sure that as soon as I see a trailer featuring Ms. (Or is it Mrs.?) Johansson as Black Widow, then I'll be wooed. What I'm most worried about, though, is her accent. I hope she can have a believable Russian accent to go with the character, you know?

The Spirit wasn't her fault. As I've come to understand, everything about that movie was awful.

Ridiculous!! I really don't think Scarlett Johansson can act...there are much better actresses....She was to campy in "The Spirit" last year in 2008!!!

She's not that kind of infiltrator. Her role is primarily as an assassin.

You would Itchy, if you had a dick.

    Whiplash isn't Russian...
At least not the male Whiplash, who is consequently Ultimate Whiplash, an American.

Didn't MW say he was coming on as a Russian villain? Whatever, Whiplash will be cool. I'd hate to see another movie where he fights a bigger suit of armor.

I expect an "Update!" any time now from MW:

According to Yahoo news, Mickey Rourke as finally signed the deal to play the villain Whiplash.

  19. T.Clark

Great news. She'll have more chemistry with Downey and be able to hold her own in the already all-star cast more than Blunt would have. I'm actually really excited for her portrayal

  20. They call me ITCHY BALLS

I'd f*ck Pepper Potts, then go f*ck Black Widow and come back and f*ck Pepper Potts and tell her I was out on a business meeting.

  21. Portfan

I like the choice. She has a good demeanor for this character. I don't think Favreau would have hired her for being strictly the good looking sidekick if he didn't believe she could pull off all that it encompasses, and with Marvel producing they would want someone who can lend credibility on the big screen. This is most likely a multi picture deal in the future. Black Widow could be in Iron Man 3, The Avengers, Capt. America, Thor, as well as many other Marvel characters, including a Black Widow solo vehicle (which lets face it will happen eventually, especially with Scarlett cast).

  22. aeinhorn

Why is everyone so hung up on the accent? As a successful infiltrator and spy, she would work very hard at not displaying any sort of accent.

I totally agree with the accent being important. I hope it works out. It would be nice if Olga had gotten cast though.

She's hot but she does not have the acting ability to pull off the part of a Russian assassin. The accent will most likely be horrible. This movie keeps tumbling down down down

She's hot and talented, but, starting to get overexposed...probably just another vapid/window dressing role like she had in The Spirit.
