Sandra Bullock has signed to star in the upcoming romantic comedy, The Proposal. According to Variety, first time scribe Peter Chiarelli has written the script.

The story follows a demanding female boss who agrees to a shame marriage in order to save her job. Faced with being deported to the cold country of Canada, she must marry her young male assistant to stay within the confines of the United States.

The film will be the actor's first comedic role since 2005's Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous. No start date has been set.
