Samuel L. Jackson to star in S.H.I.E.L.D. movie
RadioBigBoy recently chatted with Samuel L. Jackson who said that a S.H.I.E.L.D. movie will follow The Avengers, which stars Jackson as the character, Nick Fury.

"The Avengers should start shooting some time next year, and then some time after that there'll be a big S.H.I.E.L.D. movie."

A daring amateur boxer from Hells Kitchen is recruited by the Army for some top-secret assignments. He soon is promoted to captain, where he puts together the First Attack Squad, a group of elite soldiers who carry out elite missions. S.H.I.E.L.D. is the covert law-enforcement operation that pulls The Avengers team together.

S.H.I.E.L.D. is in development and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg, Cobie Smulders, Kevin Pennington.

Awesome. Start crankin' 'em out! And bring on more Hulk too. This is what suits Jackson so well. Not playing a stuffy Jedi. That's so not him. He needs to be kicking ass and blowing sh*t up and laughing maniacally as the smoke clears. Hope he gets to do Unbreakable 2 sometime soon.

haha @todd - i know what you mean though man. A lot of the movies that have been made annoy me. If marvel had control of all their properties it would be a different story. Ive been reading the Civil War series - I wish that somehow, someway, they could eventually do that but it is near impossible. That is what I loved about the cartoons though. They always held true. The Xmen series and Spiderman series were great.

I'm not really upset about the whole thing, I disapprove of the concept. I know that Toby wasn't that great but still Raimi did his best until the third film.
Most of these studios let the director do his/her thing. Sometimes I get so angry at these directors and studio's that they have no clue what they are doing, I enjoyed the first Iron Man but still some directors shouldn't even be considered.
Personally, I don't care much on the ultimate universe but I would laugh if one day that they decided to do the What If versions. Those I enjoyed along with Verse Universe, now that would make us scratch our heads.

I think I might retract what I said a little and stop reading comics all together, I might enjoy the films a little more if I did that.

Funny...that entire comment seemed pretty negative and full of judgmental rambling.

Wow Todd. you are pretty upset over this.

My personal opinion - I like the ultimate universe. I think Sam as Fury is perfect. Esp sicne they asked him when they rebooted the character to have it based on him (like stated below).
I think the new spiderman reboot is needed after the studio f*cked up the third with their choice in villians/way they wanted it done. A younger spiderman could work perfectly if done right. Daredevil - love the character just wanna see it done right. Punisher I have mixed opinion on. Although I enjoy Thomas Jane's version, Ray is the perfect punisher - the director just royally screwed the pooch on that.

Oh well, all and all Im excited to hear about a SHIELD movie!

I don't mind Sam it's just he acts the same in every film.Personally, the Ultimate line is screwed up, my favorite wall crawler is being rebooted which I find is soo wrong and Sam being Nick is even worse.
Stick to the old format, I rather see the original Marvel line of superheroes not some twisted version.
Stay away from Wolverine as well, I don't want some punk of no talent portraying him in the future once Hugh is too old.

Kingpin is a white fat man
Spidy tells jokes while battling his foes
Nick Fury is suppose to be white 'I rather see George Clooney as Nick'
Dare Devil is a 'oh wait there isn't anything wrong with him just get someone else to portray him'
Both Punisher films are bad 'They need a reboot'

I'm done with marvel, I refuse to watch any of these twisted versions.

Marvel approached Jackson about using him as the source for the re-invent on Nick Fury to which Jackson gave his consent. The new Nick Fury (which is found in the "Ultimates" comic line) is indeed black. All of the Marvel characters in the "Ulimates" universe have all been re-invented and had their origin stories retold. The movies that Marvel has made so far seem to draw from both the main Marvel Universe and the Ultimate Marvel Universe. And Nick Fury as protrayed in the movies is very much like his Ultimates counterpart.
