Samuel Goldwyn Films has picked up Milos Forman's drama, Goya's Ghosts from The Saul Zaentz Company.

The film stars Stellan Skarsgard, Javier Bardem and Natalie Portman; Skarsgard stars as Spanish artist Francisco Goya. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story follows their personal trials from the late 18th century through the tortured girl's release from prison after Napoleon's invasion of Spain. Bardem is a member of the clergy during the Spanish Inquisition who becomes obsessed with one of its targets, Goya's muse (Portman).

Goya's Ghosts has a summer release scheduled.

Goya's Ghosts was released July 20th, 2007 and stars Javier Bardem, Natalie Portman, Stellan Skarsgård, Randy Quaid, José Luis Gómez, Michael Lonsdale, Blanca Portillo, Mabel Rivera. The film is directed by Milos Forman.
