"Kirsten, I'd love to work with her again," Raimi said. "I hope she'll be written into it. I couldn't imagine making one without her, and I think she's an important part of the movies."
Raimi added, though, that the development process is just starting up and there is much work to be done.
"I'm really excited about Spider-Man, and I'm hoping to direct it," he said. "I don't have a script yet, but production would start probably by March of 2010, I'm guessing. It sounds like a long time away, but we need a script first, and a lot of pre-production has to take place."
He also noted that one fan-favorite story might be told in the future as well, that of Dylan Baker's Curt Connors, who becomes The Lizard.
"He's a great actor, and I think one day The Lizard's story will be told," he teased. "I don't know if it will be this one or not. I just don't know. I'm definitely hoping to work with Dylan in the picture. I just don't know who the villain is yet."
Spider-man 4 is in development .

So what about Vanderbilt? I didn't forget about the infamous Zodiac writer, Columbia. Who WROTE THE SCRIPT TREATMENTS FOR SPIDER-MAN 4 AND 5 !!! What, you took his material and let him go ???!!!?
And why hasn't Kirsten come out already like Raimi and Maguire has and said she's down with it? I thought they all had that PACT with each other...? I know she's doing a few movies, but c'mon, she has HAD to hear of this already.
Sounds a little fishy.

Hobgoblin is that the orange goblin?
if so that would be sweet!
they should also put Kingpin in it too

Hobgoblin will also be a likely choice. I was hoping they'd kind of skip over the comic logic and just make Harry into the Hobgoblin, but introducing a new character works too.
Oh, and people who are obsessing over Venom's return, use your head. Eddie Brock died in Spider-man 3. Without him, it's not Venom, just the symbiote.

I'm game. I surprisingly enough liked the 3d, and am awating the 4th. Just don't over-do this series, you guys. Might begin to get old. It already is to the majority that didn't like the 3d.

Sure it can. Lizard will be the villain of 4. Sandman has already made an appearance and isn't dead. Have someone discover the goblin lair at the end of 4 and he becomes hobgoblin in 6(i.e. harry finding the lair in 2 and becoming new goblin in 3). I know i skipped 5, but he'll be like nick fury with the avengers, recruiting villains in 5 and 6 to take down spidey. Introduce mysterio, electro, and kraven in cameos throughtout 4 and 5 so they can be recruited towards the end of 5 and beginning of 6. Mysterio can be a troubling actor, kraven can be a steve irwin-like tv personality who wants to catch spidey "ultimate spider-man" style. And Electro can show up along with kingpin as a side story in 4 or 5 as kingpin's "security" like, again, in ultimate spider-man. It seems complicated written down like this, but read through it a few times. :)

it's hard to argue with all this. the 3rd was f*cking sh*t! he has alot of making up to do to the fans. which makes me think he might over do it again. but the idea of the sinister six is awesome. but can it really work?

Carnage's story can be told in the venom movie, because it would actually MAKE SENSE. Okay, let me dumb it down for ya: Venom movie being made...spin-off of spidey 3...venom is a symbiote...carnage is a symbiote...already tried symbiote in spidey movie...it failed...venom vs. carnage no brainer w/ venom as anti-hero...focus on other villains in spidey films so u actually get to see a sinister six

i also like the idea of the 4th movie setting up the 5th movie that should have Carnage as the main villain and that one setting up the 6th movie and have the sinister six, that would be hott!

I think in 4 the main villain should be the Lizard and maybe have some smaller villians like the Scorpion and Shocker!

spider man 4.....lizard,shocker, ans sandman has a small part like a death scene i guess? and 5 should be just carnage then 6 the sinister six!

lol, well i want carnage in it so idk.

Carnage should be saved for the venom movie as venom's main antagonist as the story focuses more on venom as an anti-hero. Since we've gotten a taste of the symbiotes in spidey 3 and it didn't go so well, leave them out and focus on spidey's other villains leading to his battle against a deadly sinister six in times square in the sixth installment...yep

i too think vulture would be bad, why not just carry on the venom an carnage plot lines already started, with lizard as the main villian, who has the symbonite rock at his labs.
Its just seems to fit neatly together, not forgetting small cameos from fan faverates.
i'm not sayin go dark in tone an all that dark knight stuff but after 2 goblins, doc ock an venom, peter needs something big and bad coming his way
CARNAGE!!!!!

I just don't want the villian to be The Vulture. At this point, I don't care who it is, just not him. I'm scared that he might be in it since Sam did say back in the day while filming the first two that he wanted his personal favorites, Green Goblin and Vulture. *sigh* f*ck! lol.

Chad, I agree with you that the Vulture's portrayal in the original comics probably wouldn't stand a chance against spidey, but think about it. Every villain has been altered and modernized for the Spider-man films. If they did include him, he probably wouldn't be much older than Doc Ock was in Spider-man 2. Also keep in mind there were three different Vultures, one of which was actually rather young.
It's his lust for youth and his wealth that make him more feasible as a realistic character. I do want Carnage and The Lizard to appear eventually just because they're such aggressive characters and could deliver some sweet action sequences. But if we're going beyond that, and looking at who would be easier to write into Spider-man 4, the Vulture could take over Osbourn Industries and start designing illegal weaponry, including his winged suit. I doubt they'll go with that, but it's not a bad start. My point is, he's much easier to introduce into the movies. Remember, Raimi already said he wasn't going to change the tone of the Spider-man series just because The Dark Knight did so well with a darker plot. I think introducing Carnage would kind of be imitating the Joker a little too much, and ultimately take the story in the wrong direction. At least save him for Spider-man 5.

Vulture is the stupidest villian ever. An old man who flies? Are you f*cking kidding me? Spiderman would kick his ass in two seconds by removing his pace maker. I mean come on lol. Vulture...lmao. Electro, Rhino, Shocker, Carnage, & Mysterio would be cool villians. I already know The Lizard will be the main villian. I wonder, since in the first 2 films, there was only one main villian. Maybe that's why it did so well and the 3rd one was too crowded maybe. I love more villians personally, because chances are I will see some of my favs. On the other hand, the stories were so much better in 1 and 2 because they focused on Peter's life and then the one villian's life. Gave it time to develop a story and character details. It would be awesome twist if Sandman actually meant to kill his grandpa and he lied to Peter...and Peter finds out in the beginning of the 4th film and takes him out, getting rid of Sandman's freedom cliff hanger ending from the 3rd. And meanwhile Dr. Conner turns himself into The Lizard not long after...and in the chaos of turning, he knocks over the glass with the symbiote and it gets free...which they could go with that on this film with it latching onto the serial killer and becoming Carnage or leave it alone for the 5th.

I Would love to see a villain in a spiderman movie that is pure evil and not like doc ock and sandman. i think Carnage, the Scorpion and Mysterio would be awesome as the main villain of the 4th movie. i also think it would be cool to see lesser known villains in the movie like rhino and shocker in like a montage or something fighting spiderman.
