Sam Neill will star in Alcatraz
Sarah Jones is starring in the pilot as a cop who assists with a bizarre FBI investigation centering on a group of Alcatraz prisoners and guards who disappeared years ago and have now reappeared in present day. Sam Neill will play Emerson Hauer, who heads up a government agency.
We reported last month that Lost alum Jorge Garcia is playing another lead character, Dr. Diego Soto, an expert on Alcatraz. Jonathan Coyne also has a lead role with Jason Butler Harner landing a supporting role.
Alcatraz was created by Elizabeth Sarnoff with J.J. Abrams executive producing through his Bad Robot production company. Production will start on the Fox pilot in January.
