Sam Neill and Geoffrey Rush Sign on for Guardians of Ga'Hoole

Director Zack Snyder has just secured a quartet of voices for his new 3D animated film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush, Hugo Weaving and David Wenham have joined the voice cast of Guardians of Ga'Hoole.

The international cast will also feature Australian actors such as Emily Barclay, Abbie Cornish, Emilie de Ravin, Ryan Kwanten and Jay Laga'aia alongside English actors Miriam Margolyes, Helen Mirren and Jim Sturgess. The story revolves a young owl named Soren, who is mystified by his father's stories of Guardians of Ga'Hoole, who were warrior owls who fought off evil forces.

Production is currently under way in Sydney, Australia. The film, based off the books by Kathryn Lasky, is set to bow in Australia on December 9, 2010.

Legend of The Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole was released September 24th, 2010 and stars Emily Barclay, Abbie Cornish, Essie Davis, Adrienne DeFaria, Joel Edgerton, Deborra-Lee Furness, Sacha Horler, Bill Hunter. The film is directed by Zack Snyder.

    Sam Neil is such a good actor. Actually, him and Hugo Weaving would be cool in a movie together ... a live action movie, not just voices.

    Steven Spielberg should re-team with Sam like James Cameron is re-teaming with Sigourney Weaver, get him back in people's minds. Being just a voice isn't gonna help and I'd like to see him in the flesh again on the big screen...not exactly in a buddy cop movie, though.

    On the other hand, Hugo Weaving is the go-to guy if you want a cool voice.
