Universal Pictures picks up the sci-fi pitch Sagittarius A
Universal Pictures has acquired a pitch entitled Sagittarius A from Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Stephen Karczynski. No story details were given at this time.

Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman developed the story with Stephen Karczynski, who will write the screenplay. Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman will produce through their K/O Paper Products company.

While there are no details on the plot, the title may refer to the Sagittarius A-star, an astronomical radio source located between the Sagittarius and Scorpius constellations. It is believed that a large black hole is located in that spot.

Stephen Karczynski also has his screenplay The Umbra, which landed on The Black List, in development at Endgame Entertainment, with Martin Campbell attached to direct.
