Saw this trailer on the "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People" DVD, in which it looked pretty good, with hints that Samantha was only 10 yaers old when Donnie Darko died, and the evil bunny visions are back. But just saw another trailer online and now it looks stupid as hell. The world ending? C'mon. "Donnie Darko" MADE Jake Gyllenhaal's career, but "S. Darko: A Donnie Darko Tale" won't do SH!T for this no-name actress, Daveigh Chase.

was this at all necessary???? i admit that the first darko was hard to warm up to after the first viewing a few years ago, but after reviewing the film and seeing it several times since stands as a great film and a great social commentary. i agree wood that the first was indeed a stand alone film much like most films that dull out sequels to milk a dry cow... it is not suprising this is direct to dvd.

There was no need for this and I'm not going to watch it. The original was awesome as a stand alone film.

I agree with Twisted. This movie did'nt need a sequal. And theres nothing in the film that would give reason to do a sequal.

Twisted Smile (The Untold Smile)
This is a perfect example of a film that did'nt need a sequal. Darko was perfect as is. If people like it,fine. I just don't get the reason for a follow up.
