After his departure, the studio hired Juan Carlos Fresnadillo to take the reigns on the project. He left in November of 2012 after not being able to match visions with the studio. They are currently searching for his replacement, leaving the Green Lantern star in limbo. The first Highlander was directed by Russell Mulcahy and starred Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery. The film lead to five sequels and a TV series. Ryan Reynolds most recently voiced a role in DreamWorks Animation's Turbo and will be seen in Robert Schwentke action comedy R.I.P.D.
