Ryan Murphy might remake The Rocky Horror Picture Show
The original still packs midnight screenings across the country, but that won't stop Fox 2000 from producing a new version for today's younger audiences. Ryan Murphy just finished The Rocky Horror Glee Show episode of Glee, which pays tribute to Jim Sharman's stage and film production centered on a single sexy night spent in the home of sweet transvestite Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Which would make him the perfect candidate to helm this inevitable update.
Murphy hasn't commited to The Rocky Horror Picture Show just yet, but Deadline claims a deal is closing in. If the project moves forward, you can expect to see some big names from both the world of television and music appearing in the cast.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show was released September 26th, 1975 and stars Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Richard O'Brien, Patricia Quinn, Nell Campbell, Jonathan Adams, Peter Hinwood. The film is directed by Jim Sharman.
Glee episode 2.5, "The Rocky Horror Glee Show" stars Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Jessalyn Gilsig, Jane Lynch, Jayma Mays, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and is directed by Adam Shankman.

Okay, sure, let's remake yet another classic into a crappy, hollow version of it's former self. Way to go, Hollywood. :(

Oh hell no, no one can take this away. Tim is in his element in this film.
Remake this and I'll stop watching Glee.

Err
yeah i never cared for this one myself, but i would totally sign a petition to stop a remake from happening because like it or not it is one of the most beloved cult classics in beloved cult classic history.

Rocky Horror is a right of passage for teenagers and should not be remade, period. The original is campy and perfectly naughty. "there's a light.."

I never liked this movie, but the beginning sentence of the article both made me laugh and saddened me at the same time...
"In an attempt to completely remake every single film from the 70s and 80s, 20th Century Fox is now planning to redo one of the biggest cult classics of all time with The Rocky Horror Picture Show." lol

@messenger Normally, I don't really care about remakes, but this just makes no damn sense to me.

@Soylent: Agreed!
And if he remakes this it'll kill his show's cult following. Guarantee it. {I dunno if it's actually a cult following. I just assume it is cuz of how crummy it sounds}

I know, I just finished watching a thing on Midnight Cinema and watching El Topo. So in protest of the remake go see the original. And just because you have the right doesn't mean you need to. I used to love MW but now I can't go on a link with out someone complaining or arguing. I wish I had my old MW back =( LOL.

this will not end well... i don't even like RHPS, but cult classics ought not be touched... even if it can somehow be done better. there is no movie like this one b/c of the fact that it still does play in packed theaters... other massively popular cult classics are simply enjoyed on DVD and tv reruns. this is a bad idea.
