@shuabert: "No Country..." is one of my all time favorites. I wrote an essay on that for a book to film class I took. Posted it under a forum. It was the easiest thing to write cause I've read the book so many times and likewise for the film. It's the only book I ever read in one sitting.

@slysnide I consider The Dark Knight to be a classic, too. That movie is as good as anything that's come out in the past ten years. I consider it to have as much depth as No Country for Old Men and other "best of the year" films of recent years.

@slysnide -- Ha, really? Someone has some catching up to do. Eh, I guess so. Let me know when you watch 'em.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx: I haven't seen either of those films. :P But yeah, I thought I mentioned the genre thing before, but I guess not. Same with my classifying "Predator" & "The Dark Knight" as classics eventually, but for their respective genres, like '80s actioneer for "Predator" and comic book/crime drama mesh for "Dark Knight."

@shuabert -- Ha ha, I tend to do the same thing!
@slysnide -- Why didn't you tell me that sooner? That makes a lot more sense, now. I was appalled that you gave "The Last House On The Left" remake 4/5 stars, because I felt it was a little above-average at best. Albeit, I did enjoy watching it. But, compared to other horror films in the past decade, it was pretty decent.
What's your stance on "The House Of The Devil" and "The Descent"? I find those to be the best horror movies of the decade.

@shuabert: meh, hit or miss it makes no difference to me. ;)
@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx: My ratings are so screwy cause I rate according to the genre, not in general. Though I suppose I could specify which genre I classify each film as when I rate/review them.

@dan1 To be honest, most of you I associate with your profile pictures, so I just always pictured her as the Joker.

@shuabert Not surprised you thought that, though. @slysnide is very dude-ish with her taste in film and lingo.

I so hope that this movie is very subtle, then randomly and wildly abrupt, getting more and more aggressive like Drive was..Gosling proved to be a new movie badass and im sure this will continue that

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx I'm debating it. Although I'm dying to write a review that isn't cosmically skewed by those who were fans of the movie (and source material) before even sitting down to watch it.

@thedude-abides -- Woah. Well, that sucks. Needless to say, you're in quite the sticky situation. Do you think waiting for it to release on DVD/Blu-Ray would be too much of stretch?

@bawnian-dexeus Lol. Thanks, man. I hope it'll be a mindgasm. Hopefully with Looper, and The Master, and this, I've shed some light on some pretty awesome films for 2012! And there's more where that came from ;)
@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx Thanks. Anyway, it was no big thing. I bought this girl flowers for her birthday (awesome like that) before she left for Panama city for spring break last week, but I didn't get a chance to see her before she left. And what's more, she wrecked her car on her way back to Nashville, so now she's immobile and I have no way of seeing her, lol. If that ain't a sign, I don't know what is.
Either way, I'm gonna see it hopefully tomorrow, but I have zero expectations for this thing (aside from the tremendous reviews it's getting, which may actually work against it for me). I don't wanna waste money on it, and it's really gonna mess up my checklist (I map out the list of films I'm gonna see every year at the beginning of every year), but I need to see it in order to defend my position on it, which I'll gladly change if I'm wrong. I just don't see that happening.

@thedude-abides I'm just glad you push some of us for films of this caliber or others in generals that at first we might list off as uninteresting. Lo and behold, we get a mindgasm of epic proportions.

@thedude-abides -- I can understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I don't get how people can be so inconsistent in their ratings.
Indeed. Wow! That means a lot, man - especially coming from someone like you. I greatly appreciate that comment, and I feel the same way. ;)
So, how is "The Hunger Games" thing going?

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx Thanks. I guess more people were watching that little spat take place than I thought, lol. Either way, like I told her, I didn't agree with a lot of her list, but like anyone else, she's entitled to her opinion as I am mine. You and I do seem to be of like minds on a lot of things movie related, and not that I need to be surrounded by "yes men," because I don't, I certainly like to be around people of who know their sh*t, which you most certainly do :)

I love Ryan Gosling, Great actor and looking forward to this but Drive ?
The film is way Overrated . Nowhere near the calibre of the true crime classics such as Goodfellas, Pulp Fiction, Godfather. Fact.
Watch Drive again and see what you really think.
The most under-hyped under-rated movie for me personally last year was: Warrior. It started slow but gripped me to the sofa at the end. Awesome.

he looks kinda skinny in this. since he's supposed to be kicking ass, i thought he'd be about Drive or Crazy Stupid Love size
