Russell Crowe in talks to join Harker
We first reported on this project just over one year ago, when Warner Bros. picked up the rights along with Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way production company. Harker is a revisionist take on Bram Stoker's Dracula story, with this tale centering on Jonathan Harker, a Scotland Yard detective who becomes consumed with finding Dracula after a spate of grisly murders.
Jaume Collet-Serra is directing Harker from a screenplay by Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy. It isn't known when production will begin on Harker. If Russell Crowe does sign on, shooting won't start until after the actor has wrapped on the musical Les Miserables. We also reported last week that Russell Crowe may join Darren Aronofsky's Noah, although that project doesn't have funding fully secured yet.
Harker comes to theaters in 2014 and stars Russell Crowe. The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra.
