Warner Bros. eyes Russell Brand for Cupid
Warner Bros. is planning to develop Joe Nussbaum's romantic comedy Cupid with Russell Brand set to star. Yesterday, we reported that the comedian is looking to replace Jim Carrey in Pierre Pierre.

The romantic comedy focuses on a cynical Cupid, who must deal with creating the ultimate romance. The actor will be producing with his partner Nik Linnen at Branded Films.

The actor most recently played Lonny in Rock of Ages and is voicing the role of Dr. Nefario in Despicable Me 2.

No production details have been released for this project.

The only thing Russell needs to eye is a bar of soap and some Luke warm water

I know there is a lot of justified hate for Brand, but the guy really hits my funny bone. I'll give this a chance.

@narrator@SpaceCowboy You have to admit, 2 hours later when it finally loaded, it was badass! and I do miss those days on here... everyone ripping dumb people a new one, chasing morons off the site... and our little gang having our decent, intelligent conversations!

Yeah, your layout was great... though it did take a while to load. Haha. @mcleve02

@SpaceCowboy It is a better layout! I love the tagging as well, this way you can easily tell who people are talking to!

@mcleve02 Ahhh, the good old days... But now, instead of MW copying MySpace's layout, it's copying Facebook.

@skywise Back in the day when we were able to really sp*ce up our profiles, this was the background pic and the writing was all purple and green with a Joker mouse pointer! My page was insane! I know @SpaceCowboy and @narrator loved it! Even if it did take about 30 minutes to load! haha

  10. THE JOKER

@skywise Agreed. People have got to realize that these people are artists in theater and acting... They should be able to do everything! Williams with Nolan, how was that not going to be awesome!?

@mcleve02 Chris Nolan's Insomnia with Robin Williams was a prime example of a camedian doing drama and doing it well. It is a fantastic movie and it got decent reviews. Fans and critics both liked it. But typecasting can really narrow an actors opportunities.

  12. THE JOKER

@skywise It just makes me sad, robin Williams as a prime example, that when people establish them as strictly comedy and don't give any of their serious stuff a chance... I worry people will do that with him! I really hope not though

@bawnian-dexeus I comepletely agree. Comedic actors generally do very well in Drama. They say that comedy is the hardest so if you can do comedy then you can do anything.

@mcleve02 hell, Egnland pretty much threw him out after his fiasco with his radio show. What is a fallen Englishman to do after offending a Nation? Go to America of course, where everyone is born offended.

I hope that doesnt offend you.
