The series was created in 2002 by Brian K. Vaughn and Adrian Alphona. Vaughn, who is also a writer for Lost, will write the big-screen adaptation.
The comic series revolved around a group of teens who discover that their parents are all super-villains. They form an alliance and try to discover the origin of their own passed-down super-powers while trying to stop their evil parents.
The series is still in the early stages of development, and no production schedule will be released for some time.

I loved the Runaways, and the fact that Brian K. Vaughn is writing the script is encouraging. It will be interesting to see how successful this will be with it being such a relatively unknown comic series.
