"I had wrist and elbow surgery and they took part of my elbow out. I had really bad nerve damage from doing stunts - I do a lot of my own stunts," McGowan recently told Tarts. "I could no longer use my arm, but now I can hold a fork and drive so we're working our way up. It'll probably be another six months of rehab, but It's the price you pay for being really limber and being able to do back flips!"
The article went on to say that the production was stopped, but since a concrete shooting date hasn't been announced as of yet, it seems McGowan could've been either in training or rehearsal for the film. Either way, it seems that it could be quite some time before we see McGowan as Red Sonja.
We'll certainly keep you posted on the status of McGowan's injuries and the film itself as soon as we have more information.
Red Sonja is in development . The film is directed by Simon West.

She later on goes on to confirm via twitter that Red Sonja will continue shooting in 2010, apparently they are now concentrating on Conan.

I never knew she did her own stunts... That's pretty cool. I was all excited for more news on this movie, since I've really been looking forward to it for a long time now, but I'm kind of depressed to hear that it'll be a while before it's going to hit. Hope she gets better soon, though!
