Some thought that Jennifer Lopez would be the first choice to play Barbarella in the new Robert Rodriguez remake. Well, Joblo is now hinting that Rose McGowan will be the starlet to don those funky go-go space boots.

Joblo's scooper, a guy they call Zeiss, claims that Rodriguez is nearing the start of production on this shoot, and that they have already done some FX test footage with McGowan standing in as the space vixen.

This, of course, doesn't mean that she is locked for the part. Right now, she is only being used as a model. The movie will likely start shooting before the end of the year.

Barbarella comes to theaters in 2014.
