Rooney Mara is in final negotiations to join the Untitled Spike Jonze Project. The Oscar-nominated actress will replace Carey Mulligan, who was forced to bow out due to scheduling difficulties.
Rooney Mara joins the Untitled Spike Jonze Project
We first reported on this project last March, when it was believed that Spike Jonze will direct from a screenplay by Charlie Kaufman. Now it seems Spike Jonze will direct from his own screenplay, which revolves around a man who falls in love with a computer's voice.
Megan Ellison is financing the project through her Annapurna Pictures company. Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, and Samantha Morton are also attached to star.
If Rooney Mara's deal is finalized, she will begin work on the untitled project after wrapping on Steven Soderbergh's The Bitter Pill.
Her comes to theaters December 18th, 2013 and stars Scarlett Johansson, Amy Adams, Olivia Wilde, Rooney Mara, Chris Pratt, Joaquin Phoenix, Portia Doubleday, Cassandra Starr. The film is directed by Spike Jonze.
