Roger Avary Still Working on Return to Castle Wolfenstein

According to Eurogamer, Return to Castle Wolfenstein is still in development and Roger Avary attached to write and direct the feature. Avary is "working on the script right now", according to id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead.

"With the writer's strike it took so long to get underway and Roger Avary, the writer, had a commitment that was in line before working the Wolfenstein stuff, but I've recently been in contact with Roger and he's actually working on the script right now," Hollenshead told Eurogamer.

Set during WWII, Return to Castle Wolfenstein revolves around U.S. Army Ranger B.J. Blazkowicz, who leads a team of agents into Castle Wolfenstein in order to investigate the Nazis' SS Paranormal Division.

No production date was set.

Yeah the game was grrreat, and finally its great to hear some good news from this front.
I think this movie will rock, cause first of al you got your typical nazis, but even more craaazier filled with uber monster projects against a group of americans.
This movie is gonna rock, as long as UWE BOLL keeps his hands off this one!

Not a deep enough story, and the main character doesn't really matter....Loved the game though

i dont know i dont see the point in this.
if you want to make a ww2 movie then cool, do it, i like roger avery he has done some decent work in the past, but enough is enough with the video game adaptions already.
they almost never turn out well, in my opinion.

This could be really cool. They've been working on it for a while so I hope it shows in the film.

Ummm I don't know... Doom was kind of lame... Halo was shelved... and there are many other movies based off of video games that don't do so well.

  10. NAME GOES HERE

i used to love 'Return to Castle Wolfenstein' - i used to be addicted to this game when i was little.
Although i worshiped the graphics then constantly commenting on their grandeur, looking back i go a bit red-faced... lol

looking forward to watching a great action movie (hopefully they don't keep the first-person-shooter view - that angle may be a pain in the ass after a while)

Hell yes! I'm down for this. Nazis are always good bad guys lol. Especially crazy ones with paranomal projects like in Hellboy.
