Rocky Carroll joins the cast of Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service next season, according to CBS.

Carroll will play NCIS Director Leon Vance, an intelligent, highly trained agent who in the season finale showed his power over Gibbs (Mark Harmon) by re-shuffling his team. In this past season, Carroll was a recurring guest star portraying the Assistant Director, but following the murder of Director Jenny Shepard (Lauren Holly) in the season finale, Vance was promoted to Director.
