Michael Fassbender is an early candidate to star in RoboCop
"I'll film RoboCop. I'm indeed writing the script, the writer is here with me in Rio, we've spent over the last 15 days working together, refining the script.
I'll be travelling this friday back to LA, bringing this new version to discuss with the studio, and maybe begin with the casting, selecting actors... and the idea is to begin filming in February or March. That's the idea, you know, we never know in the American movie industry. We're just delivering the project, but also we depend on the schedule of the actors. It's tough.
I can't talk yet, it's too early to speak, but there are some actors I like. I really like Fassbender, I'll talk to him. There's a possibility, and there's a lot of other great actors that would play RoboCop. But that's the idea, to film around January, February, March."

Michael Fassbender is currently attached to At Swim-Two-Birds and Prisoners, but Prisoners does not have a production schedule set yet and At Swim-Two-Birds starts shooting in early 2012. It is possible that Michael Fassbender can squeeze RoboCop into his schedule.

@slysnide - "I never saw the Robocop films" You didn't miss much unless you like to watch bad movies for a laugh. I saw the first one and all I could think is "one shot to the mouth and the movie is over".

Hey the story is wat matters most at this point, I dont want sum top star with a low budget film. I want an unknown star in a blockbuster film.
The old robocop film was "good" but not great. It felt like it needed sumthing im not sure wat tho. good movie tho. Then part2 and 3 came out and all hell broke losr, dumbest movie ever.
So thats kinda why i want them to get the movie right, i want whoever is robocop to return for a part2 3 ect, not keep changing this guy like the old movie. same thing w his partner.
On top of that the 80s had really bad special/fxs, Like that robot that had 2 biog guns on each side i 4got wat it was called, anyways there was parts in the film where it looked so fake. But the stuff we have now i know 4 a fact he will look pretty much real. as well as the rest. So lets hope we get a decent film.

Actually yeah. This sounds great. Fassbender really pulled it off in First Class. My only problem with him, and not just him but Xavier too, was their cheesy and generic fashion of using their powers. Like Magneto stretching his arms as far and forcibly as possible, and Xavier always putting two fingers on his head. That's a big pet peeve of mine with super heroes.
