Robin Hood made its debut on DVD and Blu-ray last week and it swept all three home video charts, for the week ending September 26.The Hollywood Reporter has the news of Robin Hood's three-way victory, although it was a very close race in DVD sales. The Disney animated movie Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue took second place to Robin Hood, selling 91% of the units that Robin Hood sold. However, the charts don't reflect sales from Wal-Mart or Sam's Club, which normally sells more family titles than other outlets.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which debuted atop all three home video charts last week, finished in third place on the DVD sales charts, second place in DVD rentals and third place in Blu-ray sales.
Robin Hood took the top spot on the BD sales charts, with a whopping 46% of the title's total sales coming in the high-def format. Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue took second place, selling 26% of its units in the 1080p format. Spartacus: Blood and Sand - The Complete First Season also made an impressive debut on the Blu-ray charts in fourth place.
Robin Hood was released May 14th, 2010 and stars Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Max von Sydow, William Hurt, Mark Strong, Oscar Isaac, Danny Huston, Eileen Atkins. The film is directed by Ridley Scott.
