Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman to Reboot Hawaii Five-O

The writers behind two of summer's biggest box office sensations have picked up another project for the small screen. According to Variety, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Star Trek) have signed on to develop a remake of the 1968 classic series Hawaii Five-O.

Orci and Kurtzman will develop the pilot with CSI: NY executive producer Peter Lenkov, with Peter writing the screenplay. All three will be executive producers and, if the pilot is picked up to series, Lenkov will take over as showrunner. CBS has given the trio a pilot commitment on Thursday after Orci, Kurtzman and Lenkov all pitched the idea to CBS.

The original Hawaii Five-O was a long-running hit for CBS from 1968 to 1980 and it was said that the network had long wanted to revive the popular series, which starred Jack Lord and James MacArthur. The series was known for its catchy theme song and for spawning the highly-popular catchphrase, "Book 'em, Dano," which Lord would say to MacArthur after an arrest.

with all of these stupid remakes, reboots, you would think that we as in all of us would stop watching this crap. Personally I never did watch the show, but still Hollywood needs to learn a few things.
Toronto needs a bigger stake in the industry, and Hollywood north 'B C' is Canada so they should stop having Canadian auditions down in the states for a Canadian production like Star Gate.

You can't be serious. Stop rebooting classics. Though, Star Trek was amazingly done. Transformers was awesome but the second? F*CK YOU.
Anyway, it better turn out right.

Why God why?! You never know what to expect from these two, they are hit and miss writers. Star Trek was great, transformers movies were horribly written, and Fringe hasn't been too great either in my opinion. This project may have just failed before it even started
