Robert Zemeckis to Travel on the Yellow Submarine

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter Robert Zemeckis is currently in talks with Disney to direct a remake of Yellow Submarine.

The original film, based on music by the Beatles, came out in 1968.

Disney isn't saying much right now as they attempt to grab "the rights to the music to the film." Some of the songs in the movie are "Eleanor Rigby," "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds," and "When I'm Sixty-Four."

Should Zemeckis take on the project it will feature performance capture. It will also be done in digital 3D.

The film follows a soldier called Old Fred. He hooks up with the Beatles and travels with them in a yellow submarine to Pepperland.

RZ would do a better job at making this enjoyable without the use of psychadellics. So I'll probly check this out.

Lol Diaigma. I love the Beatles but I won't be seeing this. Especially in motion capture.

Decent interpretations of excellent songs do not a good movie make. Across The Universe was trite, masturbatory, over-inflated commercial flash.

Yeah, Accross the Universe was very trippy. It was interesting how they made a story out of all of those songs. I liked Prudence. She was cute, and she sang beautifully. Her version of "I want to Hold Your Hand" was angelic and had that little twist to it! I just wish it had more well known Beatles songs in it.

My dad brought me up on The Beatles, and I know that there is no way Disney can get away with conveying the toke factor in this classic. Paul and Ringo need to boycot this immediatley!

I thought he was just making it in 3D, which would've been cool, but REMAKING IT TOO? Come on Zemeckis, you're better than that!
