Rodriguez still in the running to direct Deadpool?
On June 14th, we reported that director Robert Rodriguez had been approached by 20th Century Fox to direct the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine spin-off Deadpool, which will star Ryan Reynolds in the title role. The Los Angeles Times stated today that negotiations have begun between Rodriguez and 20th Century Fox, and it is looking more likely that the acclaimed action auteur will take on the project after he finishes his upcoming sequel Spy Kids 4: Armageddon.

As of this time, there is no deal in place. Both sides are addressing key issues at the moment, but it is clear that talks have moved passed casual rumor and into the discussion stage. And that deal points are being worked out. There is no other new news besides this forthcoming information.

We will update you on this story as soon as a deal between Robert Rodriguez and 20th Century Fox is firmly in place.

Deadpool is in development and stars Ryan Reynolds.

    So who's the jackass we're talking about? Cause it seems like there's lots on this story. Ok, mrman3810 and who else?

    @(Insert Username Here) yeah Rob Zombie is the most dumbest director ever. I would pick Michael Bay over him anyday. But Robert Rodriqurz isn't that great of a director despite his works, but if it comes to a deadpool movie he is the guy for the job.

    @Mrman3810: You should pitch that idea to Rob Zombie...I'm sure he'd have no problem with it...

    @moviegeek, bluedevil, ejk1, everyone.

    There's an even better option than just ignoring. FLAG and ignore. Flag every inappropriate comment he makes. It helps MW a lot. If no one gives him a reason to comment back, he won't get the rise he wants, get bored (and mad), and hopefully leave. My 3 cents.

    Ya know, thats the big problem with MW. There are literally no people going through and deleting posts like that. Most all websites have moderators and people going through and making sure everything is to a liking. I guess they like this stuff. Man, woman, child, makes no difference, that post was sick. Highly. To a level where if I hear anyone outside say "I'm MrMan3810 online", to his or her buddies, is getting a beat down, along with the buddies for being near them. AS FOR THE STORY WHICH IS WHY WE ARE ALL HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!, I love Deadpool. One of my faves. I truly believe RR will do him justice. Just like I feel Ryan will. My number one fave is Punisher, but lets face it, that franchise is dead. I hope the same doesnt happen to Deadpool. I think he has always gotten recognition, just not in movie form. He guests in a sh*t ton of comics, video games, etc. The movie should be fine.

    You're welcome. I implore you to ignore this person, but if you engage in an argument,be prepared for more of the same as below to be directed towards you. This person doesn't know how to have a civil disagreement. Other than that, have fun on the website.

    I did notice that this person has no profile and I did see that Dark Knight review. Thankfully missed out on the Kick-Ass one. So this person is floating through cyberspace here with no real profile or acceptance to be here? Wow I used 'this person' inadvertently.

    No, it, like the rest of this person's profile, has been removed. By the way, It was this person's Dark Knight review that turned Movieweb into a censored website. It had almost 200 posts, most of which were along the lines of tonight's comment, but were mostly directed at other users, such as Emmytt and Remy. Although, I must admit that they kept it going- you see, this person panned TDK, and some didn't like that. They called this person names, and it started a psychotic wave of invectives. I even defended this person's right to give this opinion, even though I disagreed with it But then the Kick-Ass review came out, and what this person wrote was utterly indefensible. I'd rather not say,but since you want to know, this person declared a desire, in very vulgar terms, to have sex with Chloe Moretz. Now I'm for free speech, but there are simply limits to what one should say. Nevertheless, this person said it, and after a few days of everyone denouncing the review, the whole profile was removed. That's basically the whole story. Oh, if you're wondering why I refer to this person as "this person," it's because they have repeatedly said that they are actually a woman. There's no way tpo confirm this, so I just say "this person."

    @ejk1, You have a point, but I doubt he's going to pick either of your options... And the editors of this site (wherever the are..) do delete comments and the such, but they are less likely to find them in obscure user reviews. It is here, in the mainstream news, that they just might catch it.

  22. ejk1

    @moviegeek, you're absolutely right. But since they didn't kick this person after the wretched comments that were made in this person's Kick-Ass review, I highly doubt this comment will even be a blip on the radar to the owners of this site. The only thing one can do is what I've been doing for the last few months- ignoring this person. Hopefully, if no one responds to this kind of garbage, then this person will 1) act like a civilized individual, or 2)leave the site entirely.

    @ejk1 - I at first ignored it, but there's a difference between just plain ignorance and stupidity towards personal preference or in just wanting attention than to what this foul-mouthed, obscene, and abhorrent individual's comments/reviews. And I have seen many, many different (similar) comments from this man. I'm fed up with it and someone needs to take a stand for it.

    Guys, you need to ignore this. Reaction is what that person wants. Obviously, you guys were spared of reading the review this person did for Kick-Ass.
