Robert Rodriguez Looking to Direct Both The Jetsons and Land of the Lost}

Robert Rodriguez is in talks to direct a live-action feature film version of the futuristic 1960's cartoon The Jetsons for Warner Brothers Pictures. He has also met with Will Ferrell about directing Land of the Lost based on the Sid and Marty Krofft Saturday morning kid show. Ferrell is set to star as the father that gets lost in time with his two kids.

No offers have been made yet, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, The Jetsons may be the one the director chooses because the project is further along in its development.

Neither film is in production at this time.

    I would want to see both of these movies. I used to watch both series.

    Land of the Lost would seem to be more like Rodriguez's style. He could easily make that a 3-D feature.

    I think I'm down with Gallagher's idea best now. Mushy has a bad attitude.

    IMDB says Sin City 2 starts filming in June, so I'm assuming whichever of these projects he decides on will be after that... or my hybrid flick har har:)

    Easy solution folks: hybrid flick. Will Ferrell gets lost in time with his two kids and they fast forward to the future to hook up with the Jetsons: George and Judy (Steve Carell and, oh, Helen Hunt, say), their boy Elroy (Cameron Bright, playing a non-creepy kid for a change...) and their daughter Judy (Alyson Michalka a.k.a. Aly of Aly & AJ...hey, I had to review a Phil of the Future disc awhile ago, gimme a break) and lets not forget George's cranky boss Mr. Cogswell, played by none other than Danny DeVito. Bam!

    DUuuuuuuuude! This could be awesome. Always been a fan of Rodriguez and always loved his work, but Planet Terror has officially turned me into super fanboy. Personally, while I always liked the Jetsons, and I feel he'd do it well, I think I'd rather see Land of the Lost at this point. Jetsons is def gonna have a huge Spy Kidds vibe, and I'm not really in the mood. :)

    I would say do Land of the Lost.
