Raimi himself confirmed Rodat's involvement to the site and also shed some light on the film's story. Here's an excerpt from the site's piece.
The aim is to adapt the game, rather than a previously conceived story written within that world. "We want to be really faithful to the game," Raimi said. "We would have our writer, Robert Rodat, really craft an original story within that world that feels like a 'World of WarCraft' adventure. Only obviously it's very different 'cause it's expanded and translated into the world of a motion picture."
Warcraft: The Rise of The Lich King was released in 2011. The film is directed by Sam Raimi.

Interesting...I feel like this might end up fairly comedic.

There are limitless areas in which Warcraft stories can be told. I'm not a Warcraft player, but with decent production value, I'd look forward to seeing Warcraft films. I just hope they don't turn out to be like the D&D movies (or most other videogame adaptations).

Hmmm, interesting i've never played WOW, but i read the comics and read the games synopsis's
I'd like to see the Lich King done, but i reckon it get too blasted and compared to LOTR.
Fable would be good, But highly recommended leave Zelda to me :)
I think the idea i've created around Zelda around the OOT story arc, can't be any better than what i've put up through my treatment. The version i've would shock a ton of fans, especially as i plan to have a massive shocker, in which one sequence of the 2 part screenplay i've been adapting for ages, involves Link sticking the master sword through Zelda...

now I've never played the game but from what my friends tell me its pretty good so I'm intrigued. But seriously if they make this they better be making a Zelda or Fable movie somewhere down the line. I think i would prefer Fable over Zelda though. Sorry to say more to explore in my opinion

I AM FRATSON
this is great news. i agree to an extent with spadicus. focus on the orc vs human age old war. with that being established in the first movie, it would allow the sequel to go further into the WOW, introducing new races

Spadicus
I hope by 'adapt' he means scrap everything and make Spider-man 5.
But seriously, I've said this before, but they only need to make a story about the age-old struggle between Orcs and Humans; what the original games were based on.

WOW is overrated but perhaps a movie could be good.
