Now that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 has hit theaters, bringing this lucrative vampire franchise to a close, Robert Pattinson can finally put away the red contacts and vampire glitter. While the actor has a number of projects on his plate, he was recently asked if he would take a role in Star Wars: Episode VII, even if it is the Gungan we almost all love to hate, Jar Jar Binks. The actor gave an intriguing response, as you can see below.

"In Star Wars? Oh, absolutely. In a heartbeat. I actually kind of like Jar Jar. I don't understand what the big deal is about Jar Jar."


Of course, Jar Jar Binks was completely a CGI creation, with Ahmed Best providing the voice in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. Still, since the character didn't die in the prequel trilogy, this may be a golden opportunity to pull those Twi-hards into the theaters for Star Wars: Episode VII.

Star Wars: Episode VII comes to theaters in 2015 and stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.

    Boy oh boy, everything about this post sucks. Worst character (and computer generated none-the-less) who single-handedly destroyed the Star Wars franchise. Now a real life computer generated actor wants to revive this sorry role in a film that will probably be more of a disaster than the 3 prequel movies combined. Well, it will be kind of hard to top that first one. It may well be one of the worst films of all time. I'm still sour over the mess Lucas made of the original films, when he chose to go in and add his little cartoon/puppet bits. This is going to be BAD and this actor in particular is a lame ass.

    @ejk1 I really do think his interest in Jar Jar is a joke. Looking at the quote, it looks like sarcasm. I could see him playing a young Jedi, possibly. But I'm still sinking in his performance from Bel Ami. His strongest performance yet. Got chills from one scene in particular. As for Cosmopolis, he was good, but that movie wasn't my cup of tea.

    @corey My beef isn't with Pattinson. He proved he can act when he was Cedric Diggory, so I'm good with him being in Star Wars if he fits. But...no Jar Jar. At all. I'd be good if the Gungans were left out completely.

    @corey: I agree with you on Robert. I haven't seen enough of his films to judge his abilities. I've only seen the first three twilight films online for free. Though I do disagree with your other argument. A good film or bad film doesn't equal a good or bad acting. For example the great Denzel Washington. He's been in some average to bad films like Out of Time, Devil in a Blue Dress and Deja Vu, but he always delivers a good or great performance. That's what separates terrible, bad, average, good and great actors and actresses is in their level of performance no matter the quality of film. Like Kristien Steward who I can judge. I've seen her in three twilight films along with Adventureland and The Runways and she's a pretty actress who has average acting ability.

    @huntsman I don't see it happening either, but every news article that has to do with a movie he's attatched to has nothing but hate on it. It's ridiculous. I'm not a huge fan, but he isn't a terrible actor. Every actor makes trash. Twilight put him on the map. And now that its over, he can move forward with a better career.

    He isn't even a bad actor. You all hate him because of Twilight and will hold that against him forever now. Know that he too hates Twilight and he's been trying to make up for it with the few movies he's come out with since, like Remember Me, Water for Elephants, Bel Ami, and Cosmopolis, where he gave solid to great performances in all of those.
