Robert Pattinson Joins the Cast of Twilight

Robert Pattinson has joined the cast of Twilight, Summit Entertainment's teen-vampire thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Pattinson will play the role of Edward, a teenager who leads a double life as a vampire and becomes romantically involved with his nonvampire high school classmate Bella (Kristen Stewart).

Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen) is directing the film, which is set to go into production in early 2008, from a script by Melissa Rosenberg (Step Up).

The movie is based on Stephanie Meyer's best-selling young-adult novel. Meyer penned two sequels, and Summit is hoping to turn the property into a film franchise.

Twilight was released November 21st, 2008 and stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Cam Gigandet, Ashley Greene, Christian Serratos. The film is directed by Catherine Hardwicke.

    I can't wait until this movie comes out. I am looking forward to seeing Robert expand his acting from the Harry Potter movie and do something alil different.

    At first I thought he was a loser and he could NEVER play Edward, but then I did some research and it turns out that he is actually well-qualified to play the part. He plays the piano, is an excellent actor, and as a bonus he actually read Twilight before he even knew there was going to be a movie.

    the more and more pictures that are released, the more and more i feel rob is a perfect edward. the only one im not happy with is that taylor kid, that ive read is suppose to play jacob.
