Robert Downey Jr. reportedly pitched the idea of Mel Gibson playing the U.S. President in Iron Man 3, but that idea was shot down, with the role eventually going to William Sadler. However, the unnamed source reveals that Robert Downey Jr. will keep pushing to get his friends hired.
