Robert Downey Jr. is a Wizard?
The only other thing the tweet mentioned was that Mitchell Kapner had written the script. CHUD dug a little deeper and discovered that the project was actually retitled from Kapner's original project, Brick, which is a prequel to The Wizard of Oz told from the Wizard's perspective, showing how he came to be the powerful Wizard.
The project was originally set up for producer Joe Roth at Disney, but it's unclear whether both the studio and producer were still involved. We'll be sure to keep you posted on any further news surrounding this new project as soon as we have more information.
The Wizard of Oz was released August 15th, 1939 and stars Judy Garland, Frank Morgan, Ray Bolger, Bert Lahr, Jack Haley, Billie Burke, Margaret Hamilton, Charley Grapewin. The film is directed by Victor Fleming, Mervyn LeRoy, Richard Thorpe, King Vidor.

Robert needs to stick to comedies and action packed films along with drama.
I enjoyed the new Sherlock Holmes film but Jude should have been Holmes and Robert -Watson.
Don't get me wrong, I do like Robert as an actor but having a dumb down version of Sherlock was an insult. This will be dumbed down as well, I bet my bottom dollar on it.

Well there was Return to Oz which was the same idea as the new Alice in Wonderland. It was certainly much darker.

But come to think of it.... It would be totally awesome to see the Wizard's part of it all in Dorothy's dream.. But do you know what will be also cool... Just like the "Alice in Wonderland", They should make Dorothy revisiting the "Land of Oz". New Chaos has risen over the yellow brick road. And maybe this time she would take the "Roads less Traveled" the Red and/or the Green one, or whatever the colors were. How 'bout that?

I've always wondered where the little "wizard" came from. And where did he ended up when he soared away in the balloon?
if I were to make the cast it would be
Dorothy= Jodelle Ferland
Scarecrow= Johnny Depp
Lion=Huge Jackmen or Will Farrel
Tin-man=Daniel Craig
& the Wizard of course= Robert Downey Jr.
