Millennium Films and Corsan Pictures will begin production January 16 on Killing Season, starring Robert De Niro and John Travolta. Mark Steven Johnson (Ghost Rider, Daredevil) will direct from a script by Evan Daugherty (Snow White and the Huntsman).

Killing Season is an action movie set in the Appalachian Mountains about an American military veteran (De Niro) who has retreated to a remote cabin in the woods. When a rare visitor, a European tourist (Travolta), appears on the scene, the two men strike up an unlikely friendship. But in fact the visitor is a former Serbian soldier bent on revenge. What follows is a tense, action packed battle across some of America's most forbidding landscape that proves the old adage: the purest form of war is one-on-one.

Nu Image/Millennium is taking the lead on international sales at the American Film Market this week, in consultation with Corsan.

"I've loved this project from the moment I read Evan Daugherty's remarkable script," said Corsan CEO Paul Breuls. "It's thrilling, imaginative, unexpected and dominated by two extraordinary characters on a collision course. I'm very pleased this film is moving into production and to be partnered with Avi Lerner and his team at Millennium."

"We're excited to be co-financing and co-producing this film with Corsan, and to be working again with Robert De Niro and John Travolta," said Nu Image/Millennium topper Avi Lerner. "We've never seen these two great actors on screen together before, and we're excited to see what comes of the combination."

Killing Season comes to theaters in 2014 and stars Robert De Niro, John Travolta. The film is directed by Mark Steven Johnson.

@bawnian-dexeus Why would I ever go after you? You never say things that basically mean, "If you don't agree with me, you shouldn't be on MW" like this kid said. Hey, I get that everyone has their sacred cows, but just because someone has a differing opinion doesn't mean you should disregard their intelligence. Some people have yet to realize that.

@theblur92 yes, yes, your done wasting my time. By the way, since you were so good to look through my profile and find all the times I was mean, I reciprocated. And you know what I found? Like 90-95% of your posts are Superman related. You seriously have a crush on Big Blue. Not that I'm judging, but having a thing for a fictional character is more than sad. It's pathetic dude. As far as you not caring about what some "computer geek" thinks, well you've already proven that you do. Remember, this whole thing started when you got upset that some of us on MW said DeNiro was not an A-Lister anymore. So what have we learned here? Well, for one, you seem to have an unhealthy Superman fetish, and two, your a liar. Good luck with life, assuming that you don't write back. However, if you do, know that I will gladly respond in kind :)

@theblur92 A week later, and that's the best you can come up with? that's sad, dude. Again, no one's trying to act tough, you just got your feelings hurt because of an apparent DeNiro fixation. It's okay though, you'll get over it in time (well, maybe).

@ejk1 I think the problem here is you didn't bow down and worship just because the guy's name is Robert DeNiro. Last I checked, guy bleeds the same color I do, sh*ts like I do, sleeps like I do, and nowadays stars in movies bad enough that even I could prob land an 'extra' role in if I auditioned.

@theblur92 I don't believe anyone here hates DeNiro. Far from it. It's just a general consensus among most Moviewebbers that the guy is past his prime and isn't doing his career any kind of service by continuing to star in bad, forgettable films. It would be better if he either stopped altogether, or was pickier in which ones he wanted to be in.

@theblur92 You clearly haven't seen enough of my posts to make a remark like that, son. You see, I say positive things about a lot of people-- Dicaprio, Pitt, Crowe, Eastwood to name a few. Just because your a little butt hurt because I said I'm not feeling good about Man Of Steel at the moment, or that I don't think DeNiro is all that good anymore, you make this sweeping accusation about all of my comments. As far as making myself "feel tough," well, you're wrong there as well. Everyone can have their own opinions; you just happen to get a little testy when someone doesn't agree with yours (hence you writing that anyone who "doesn't think DeNiro is an A-lister should not be on this site period"). Well, not everyone feels the way you do. You're going to have to get over that fact. Tell you what, to make it up to you, why don't I buy you the Raging Bull Blu-Ray so you can stop beating off to that Smallville poster above your bed?

@ejk1 yeah dont ever call me son, Everytime I see one of your so called opinions they are always negative remarks towards people or movies and its rare to actually see you leavea good "opinion" , you are obviously ignorant in the ways of acting and have never spent anytime doing it yourself. Deniro may get paid millions but yeah no one is going to turn down that amount of money if available. At least I don't make myself feel tough by trashing actors where they are never going to see it, oh ya because I have life :)

@theblur92 Well, that's just it, son. DeNiro's bad roles have increased over the years because of his age. He can no longer do the same roles he used to do; the believability of him being a physical force (like he was in Raging Bull, Cape Fear, etc.) is no longer present. Why do you think he took roles in all of those lame comedies? Because he, like an athlete, is trying to hang on, even though he should have retired years ago. As far as him having a passion for acting, well slick, that's the same as an athlete. They still do it because of "love for the game" even if their skills are diminished, which, until I see otherwise, is exactly what has happened to DeNiro. Also, it isn't like he's acting for free, the dude gets paid in the millions for his now mediocre abilities. Studios keep giving the man roles because of his name, no longer what he brings to the table in terms of talent.

Also, you may not like what I said, and you can deride me as someone that thinks I believe I'm a "professional critic," but everyone has an opinion. Mine happens to be based on what I have seen over many years; yours seems based on blind devotion. So here's the deal speedy, you can say whatever you want, everyone else including myself can do the same.

@ejk1 Well this inst sport, you cant compare athletic skills to acting skills they're completely different. Unlike sports acting doesn't go out because of old age. Besides the point Deniro like every other actor in Hollywood doesn't act for fans he acts because he has a passion for acting so let him do what he loves. Many people on these sites just think because they can comment on articles then they are professional critics.

@theblur92 In sports, when a player, no matter how great, is past his prime and far less productive, his team gets rid of him via trade or outright release. They are telling the player he isn't good enough anymore. It happens to the best of them--Jerry Rice was told that by three teams. In acting, no one is there to say, "STOP! It's over!" except us fans. So we do. And you don't have to like that we do it, but you can't stop us, especially when it's true. In the case of Robert DeNiro, it is unfortunately true. Yeah, he's been around for 40 years, but the last ten have been junk, and the previous ten were spotty.

@pjwolsker What @dan1 said. You can't call them A-listers if they aren't smart enough to pick their roles. DeNiro has moved off the A-list for a long time now. I don't think Travolta was ever on there, in my opinion.

its a great cast with 2 A-listers but they just need a different director. sometimes its not the actors fault but the director screws up. this can be really good if its done right. @moviegeek @ejk1 @jayaottley
