Halloween
Dimension's Halloween scored the highest Labor Day weekend opening ever with a record-breaking $30.6 million in its first four days of release and went on to gross nearly $60 million at the domestic box office in 2007.
Zombie's H2 will pick up at the exact moment the first movie stopped and follow the aftermath of Michael Myers murderous rampage through the eyes of heroine Laurie Strode.
H2 will be Zombie's fifth written and directed feature. Prior to the success of Halloween, Zombie released the critically-acclaimed film "The Devil's Rejects" (2005), the follow-up to his cult classic "House of 1000 Corpses" (2004). Zombie just wrapped production on his animated feature film "The Haunted World of El Superbeasto" due to be released in 2009. Zombie, also an accomplished recording artist, has sold over fifteen million albums worldwide, making him one of Geffen Records' top selling and longest running artists.
Bob Weinstein stated: "Following the success of 2007's Halloween we are thrilled to be back in business with Rob Zombie, bringing a sequel to theatres. The fans have made it clear - and we agree - that they feel the franchise is in great hands with Rob Zombie."
Rob Zombie said, "I am very excited to be working with Bob Weinstein again and returning to the world of Halloween. The remake laid the groundwork, now it's time to really take Michael Myers to the next level. I believe we've just barely scratched the surface of where we can take this series."
John Carpenter's Halloween launched the Halloween franchise in 1978 and Moustapha Akkad, founder of Trancas International Films, executive produced the original classic. Akkad's son Malek has continued with the franchise, producing Halloween (2007), Halloween: H20 (1998) and now, H2.
"I am thrilled to be making H2 at Dimension, the home of the 'Halloween' franchise for the last 15 years," commented Malek Akkad. "I look forward to working again with Bob Weinstein, as well as a filmmaker of Rob Zombie's talent and stature."

Zombie never said anything about knowing the answers, he simply reinvented Micheal's origin, because, ya know, it's a REMAKE. Stop having a hissy fit because you think Zombie ruined Myers. The old movies are there for you to enjoy still, so stop complaining and watch them. I didn't like Zombie's movie, but NOT because it was a remake. I didn't like it because it was just a crap "horror" movie, period.

Well if they're so different why are they called remakes. The fact is they are similar with small modern day updates that's all, nothing special. Zombie should have made a reality tv show about his sh*tty life, instead of adding it to Halloween. 2003 massacre sucked why do you think they was trying to revamp that sh*t with Chainsaw Massacre: The beginning. Here is my jist. Halloween 1978 is one of the best movies ever made...PERIOD. It's perfect in every sense. Rob's Halloween...what he did is take the 1978 idea and twist it into his own version of a kid growing up in a sh*tty environment. If you ask me, these movies are totally different with a few subtle similarities to Carpenter's. My opionion is this...Halloween didn't have to be remade...it was a perfect movie and is my favorite film of all time. Some remakes are good...I actually liked Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 better than the original, but if you look at the 2...they are different flicks with sbtle differences. Hollywood is all about the $$$...they don't care about anything else including fan opinion. Bottom line...

We gave remakes a chance with Black Christmas, The Hills Have Eyes, Texas Chainsaw massacre, when a stranger calls, and The Omen that's enough for me to say enough with the f*ckin remakes. Saying that some remakes are better than the original, just proves how incompetent you are. Even if the original is bad, the remake still ends up worst than ever. Rob f*cks up on everything. i liked the remake, im looking forward to this, zombie said in an interview that if he was doing a sequel it would be better. he didnt have enough time to put everything he wanted in this. and oh glad he is'nt gonna make it a copy of the original h2, cause the remake looked bad when it took every scene from the original. i think rob messed up on that, but the redneck family thing in the first part was'nt as bad as pepole say. so i say the sequel would be better. if he stays true to his word.

I'll have to admit. R.Z. sold the Farm on this one. ANd it was only two months ago, in an interview on Fangoria Radio that he stated that he had no interest in making a sequel... Maybe the Weinsteins are pulling the typical "Arie Gold" move. Before you can do this film, you have to do THIS FILM". Let's just hope that "...SUPERBEASTO" is a HIT so he'll sort of break even.
