Rob Hardy Will Direct Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Writer-director Rob Hardy has recently inked a deal to direct the sequel Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming for Rainforest Films.

Columbus Short, who was the star of the original film for Sony Screen Gems, is presently in talks to return as DJ, "a master street dancer." The casting of other actors is also afoot, and the sequel will begin shooting next month in Atlanta.

The first Stomp the Yard came out in 2007 and grossed $74 million worldwide.

it does say "homecoming" so its pretty obvious he returns to Los Angeles possibly with girlfriend Megan Goode (if she doesnt return) then a story of them breaking up will be there....he returns to the street game and maybe comes to grips with the guy who killed him maybe

Columbus, learn from Megan Fox. Just because you were in a movie that launched your career doesn't mean that you have to return back to it.

Many of my BLACK film professors think a majority of black films that make any money are jokes. I think it's just the fact of how many dancing movies do we need? How compelling can they be? I really enjoyed Drum line, there are few other that weren't all that bad but most are just plain bad.

the first one's storyline made sense, lost his brother was lost himself, uncertain lifestyle, then he became focused because of his lost brother and mother whom he made a promise, met a girl changed step in the south lol where can they possibly go from a national step show? The Streets lol

I love Stomp the Yard, but seriously it doesn't need a sequel. If it turns out to be a good movie then I will retracts my comment. I just really don't think it'll be a good movie and is not needed.
