Rob Corddry has gone from reporting the fake news now to portraying a real press secretary. According to MTV Movies Blog, Corddry has landed the role of Ari Fleischer, George W. Bush's press secretary in Oliver Stone's W.

Fleischer was Bush's press secretary from 2001 to 2003, who gained national noteriety during the 9/11 attacks. Corddry, who was a former contributor to The Daily Show, joins a cast that includes Josh Brolin as President Bush, Elizabeth Banks as First Lady Laura Bush, James Cromwell as President George H.W. Bush and Ellen Burstyn as his wife and First Lady Barbara Bush.

Production is scheduled to to commence on April 21.

W. was released October 17th, 2008 and stars Josh Brolin, Colin Hanks, Toby Jones, Dennis Boutsikaris, Jeffrey Wright, Thandie Newton, Scott Glenn, Richard Dreyfuss. The film is directed by Oliver Stone.
