Sometimes it really does seem like Hollywood is out to ruin everything I have ever held dear. I know that's a bit of an overstatement, but every time a piece of news like this crosses my path, I can't help but take it personally.

Did ANY of u even read my comments? And bringing video games into the equation doesn't make a difference, it's just a dumb argument when u had no others. Video games are way different than movies.

I said it yesterday (about clash of the titans remake) and I'm saying it again today. Studios & writers...would you please put your money and talents into making something new!

Like computer games, new and improved graphics doesn't make the gameplay any different or better.

It's time for another Hollywood disaster.

Oh goody, Rob Cohen is producing it!

Rob Cohen made some of the worst movies of the decade, including: "The Skulls", "XXX", and "Stealth", but then again he is not directing, only producing (phew!). Oddly enough, Cohen was a producer on the original 1987 film as well as other 70's and 80's "classics" like: "Almost Summer", "The Wiz", "Light of Day", and so on.

DOES ROB COHEN NEED THE MOENY THAT BAD OR IS THE RENT DUE!?.

I never thought I would live to see the day when my entire childhood was remade.

The Monster Squad two-disc 20th anniversary special edition DVD was released by Lionsgate on July 24, 2007, and contains a wide range of special features including a 5-part 90 minute retrospective doc*mentary, 2 audio commentaries, deleted scenes, the theatrical trailer, a tv spot, animated storyboards, and more. Since the release date of the DVD it has remained on the Amazon.com top seller list as of October 7, 2007.

The special edition DVD also makes a few references to the death of Brent Chalem, who played "Horace", of pneumonia in 1997. Chalem's childhood film career failed to generate much success, into adulthood, forcing him to become a paralegal

I still need to see this....however, the remake sounds like a good idea, like Clash of the Titans, it'll be interesting to see what they can do with the visual effects and whatnot.

HOWEVER, i get what ur saying with remaking them when they're only less than 20 years or so. Films like King Kong and clash of the titans make good remakes cuz they're old and the effects of today had an awesome effect on the world of Kong and i'm sure they'll come in handy with "Clash" Even i can admit that, while despising zombie's version, his halloween was SOOO dif. from the original, it's hard to compare the two. BUT(and i'm quoting my review again) "even as a movie itself, with no thought of the original in your head, his version fails to make a lasting impression" U just have to watch the movie without thinking it's a remake. If the movie's done exactly the same, then yeah, there's no point to it, but if the movie's old and could use a "reimagining" then no skin off my bones

Who cares if people remake movies? Some remakes are good, and the ones that aren't...well, let me quote myself from my Rob Zombie Halloween review: "The truth is, the original is still there for us to enjoy; it's not like when this was released it just dissapeard from existence. "Remakes" don't destroy classics, in fact they do the complete opposite; they remind us why the originals were classics in the first place." Just don't pay to watch them...oh, that's right, u people r gonna "see it anyway"

jremud you are one hundred percent correct. If remaking old films is so important than lets just fire all the writers and watch the original films the way they were meant to be and stop scewing them up with crappy remakes Oh by the way you left out a few "It's a wonderful life", "the ten comandments", "psycho" oh ya sorry been redone and what a piece of sh*t!! please writers note the sarcasm. Write something original you lazy hacks.

See I am more of a fan of the sequal when it comes to bringing back an old movie. That way if it ends up sucking donkey balls... Hey it's just a sequal... and the original stays untouched. Just because it was a good movie doesn't mean it needs to be updated... if that were true, where are my remakes of Gone With the Wind, Casablanka...Ben Hur? Ohh I see... to old to remember... got to remake stuff no older than 20 years.

Im gonna second the 'STOP WITH THE FREAKIN REMAKES!' its getting a little out of control. the writers need to get fired and stop bitching/striking cause well they cant write for sh*t if the have to remake films from a few years back. Its freakin crap! Next year will be the year of remaking films from the late 90's. I cant wait for the reamke of The Departed and 300!
Whats next a remake of the Lord of the rings.

Good God... Another Remake?! Lets see... writers go on strike because they want more money... And this is the outcome? "If you want me to update that script I am gonna need more money!" BS.. I tell you what. Get the original person who wrote the script and only pay them a dollar here and there for changing the word VCR to DVD. I swear If I hear of another remake... I am going to take a piss on all the writers that were bitching about not making enough money. STOP WITH THE FREAKIN REMAKES! BE ORIGINAL!
