Fox announces a Rise of the Planet of the Apes sequel at CinemaCon
We reported back in November that Andy Serkis, who portrayed the ape Caesar through motion capture technology, has actually signed on for two sequels. It isn't known if Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt will return for the sequel, although we reported last August that he has several ideas brewing for the follow-up.
In related Fox news, the studio announced The Wolverine will begin shooting in August, with James Mangold directing from a screenplay by Christopher McQuarrie and Mark Bomback. Ben Stiller's The Secret Life of Walter Mitty will also go into production sometime this year.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes comes to theaters May 23rd, 2014 and stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Judy Greer, Toby Kebbell, Enrique Murciano. The film is directed by Matt Reeves.

Great. The first movie was a welcome surprise, so I'm excited to see where they take this story next, and hoping they continue with the tightly-structured pacing and storytelling that the first movie gave us.

Do we really need another one? The movie wasn't that good to begin with.

@bawnian-dexeus Maybe a little of both aka Conquest and Battle of the originals. Lets not forget in the original script of Battle it addresses the Forbidden Zone and due to budget all that was drop. It could have come full circle for Planet and Beneath. It's in one of the books on the making of. Anyways hope they bring back Wyatt, he knew what he had in his hands.

So looking forward to this sequel once it's done.
The older versions are good but they are out of sequence which I didn't care for but I did enjoy them. Is there a HD version of them, the first original film I have has a flaw at the end of the it, sound goes off and on.
