"There's been some talk. Ridley Scott, Ridley is right now working on Robin Hood, but I think he's toying with the idea and that would be great for us. I mean, it's always been a matter of, really, if you can get the originator to do it that would be the greatest thing, so I've got my fingers crossed, all of them."
Alien was released May 25th, 1979 and stars Tom Skerritt, Sigourney Weaver, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton, John Hurt, Ian Holm, Yaphet Kotto, Bolaji Badejo. The film is directed by Ridley Scott.

I actually agree with you Lone Wolf, but how the Aliens & Predators met is never actually revealed, cant remember it from the books, its been a while since i've read them but i know its never explained through on the comics story arcs.
I do actually agree with you, though. I want an AVP film in Space, on a ship and on an unknown planet just to bring back the feel and settings that both franchises had.

3 was alright...i just didn't like how the premise was so random.

Forget what I said about hating Alien 3, because it wasn't that bad. It wasn't great, or on the same level as 1 and 2, but it wasn't that bad. Resurrection is the one that nearly ruined it for me, not so much 3.

I know that Alien 3 and Resurrection where bad, and those movies almost ruined the Alien character for me, so I agree with you. But the reason I chose AVPR, is because it was a small movie. It wasn't big like any of the the other Alien movies. The acting, direction, and special effects in AVPR where bad, and that's why I hated it so much.

CB, out of all the crap movies that Alien has been in, you choose AVP-R, which was actually pretty decent compared to the "why the f*ck are they on a prison planet?" Alien 3, the "what the f*ck is happening here" Resurrection, and the "let's make the Predator a good guy who runs in slo-mo with a black chick" AVP.

Since Ridley Scott directed the original one, I have every reason to trust that he will make a good prequel. The Alien character needs a good movie after being in the terrible AVPR.

Lone Wolf
Oh, "Ottley", I have already read all of the books for all three franchises, so I know there origins. I was just saying that the third "AVP" should be the film to explain it all. I know that most people hate the AVP films, but I love them, especially the second one, even though it had a thin plot, it still set up for a third one, and even hints that it will follow the book series. I would like to see the third be longer though, you know, around the same runtime that "ALiens" was, which was about 156 mins. long. It will give the film more time for a good plot development.

The story of LV 426 is explain through the books.
ROTFLMAO @ marcus comment, ET & Aliens with predator....They can all talk on BT landlines

Good, great idea....I would like to see how Aliens and Predators met. The origin of Alien is in no relationship with men,so now...they can put another "E.T." with it,or they can cross Alien history with little of Predator history. That should be fun.....but I don't really care about this.

Lone Wolf
Plus, the third "AVP" movie si going to be the prequel to the first "Alien" movie. It will explain everything supposedly, like why the ship is on "LV-426" and what the giant humanoid is on it.

Lone Wolf
If he directs this, then I'm all for it. But it would probably be best if he didn't, wouldn't want to risk making another crappy "Alien" movie, like the epic failure that is "Alien: Ressurection". I think they should just wrap up the "AVP" franchise (sorry to thos who hate those films) with an epic, third installment, and then leave all three franchises alone, movie-wise.

I'm kind of with Ottley on this one. How the f*ck would they be able to make an interesting prequel for "Alien?"

Actually No.
I still think the idea is stupid, i just don;t see the concept of an Alien prequel being interesting, despite how much i like Ridley Scott and the Alien Franchise.
The Xenomorph backstory could be interesting, but i doubt its entertaining, this could only be interesting if very well structured and developed, but i just don't find the backstory that was given in Alien, nessceary to be put to film, since there is a book on it.

Let me guess, JA, you're gonna come back to this thread in a few hours saying "this idea is stupid, but luckily, with me being a director that no one's heard of, i've come up with an idea for it on top of all my other fantasy projects"

Ridley Scott doing an Alien Prequel makes more sense than another sh*tty AVP movie, or (God please no) another Alien sequel. I really like this idea. The sequels just turned into cheap excuses for action, when there could have been more place for the development of the Xenomorph backstory. Ripley's great, but we've seen four movies about her.

Ok i don;'t even know how to comprehend how stupid this idea is...A Alien Prequel.
Also could that concept be put into a interesting movie, Shelley?
Because we know the distress signal was due to an alien attack, hardly interesting.
