Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio Get Set for Brave New World

According to the Risky Biz Blog, Ridley Scott (Blade Runner) is going to be directing Aldous Huxley's seminal novel Brave New World for Universal.

Leonardo DiCaprio will be producing this film and he might also star. Farhad Safinia (Apocalypto) is writing the screenplay.

DiCaprio's production company Appian Way owns Huxley's book. Scott had mentioned in interviews that he was keen on turning the book into a film.

The book takes place in the 26th century in a world that has found harmony by controlling the birth rate. Five castes populate the world and everybody knows their place.

The main character in the story is Bernard. He is a member of a lower-caste. He is in love with Lenina. Things get complicated when "the leaders of the society find his behavior antisocial."

The last line sounds like THX 1138. Lol. Sounds cool. Maybe with this he can get back to his Blade Runner futuristic days.

And J.A. He has 3 projects besides Robin Hood. Spielberg wants 5 or 6. i can't remember. Either way they are both losing it as of late. :(

Ok i agree this is pretty easy to screw up and it is a brilliant book btw.

But how many films is Ridley Scoot actually bloody confirmed to direct.
His becoming like speilberg and putting to much on his plate, and nothing is developing.

Story sounds very familiar but I am sure with Scott and DiCaprio it will be a good film. At least I have high hopes that it will.
