Richard Gere Joins Amelia and Brooklyn's Finest

Richard Gere has signed on for two film projects: Avalon Pictures' Amelia Earhart biopic, Amelia, and Millennium Films' cop drama Brooklyn's Finest.

According to Variety, in Amelia, Gere will star opposite Hilary Swank. The film chronicles the rocky relationship between the famed aviator and her husband, publisher George Putnam.

Shooting starts later this month in Toronto, Nova Scotia and South Africa.

Brooklyn's Finest revolves around three unconnected Brooklyn cops who wind up at the same deadly location, despite vastly different career paths. One has gone undercover to crack drug gangs; another has engaged in graft and corruption; while another has played by the rules and put in his time on the force up until his retirement.

Antoine Fuqua will direct the film, which also stars Don Cheadle and Ethan Hawke.

Amelia was released October 23rd, 2009 and stars Hilary Swank, Richard Gere, Ewan McGregor, Christopher Eccleston, Joe Anderson, Cherry Jones, Mia Wasikowska, Aaron Abrams. The film is directed by Mira Nair.
