Richard Dreyfuss is joining the cast of Sci Fi Channel's miniseries, Tin Man from RHI Entertainment.

Nick Willing will be directing the six-hour miniseries, a reimagined fantasy take on Frank Baum's book The Wizard of Oz; according to The Hollywood Reporter, Dreyfuss will play a wizard known as the Mystic Man. Deschanel will play DG, a young woman plucked from her humdrum life and thrust into the Outer Zone, aka the O.Z., which is filled with wonder and oppressed by dark magic. Cumming plays Glitch, an odd man missing half his brain who becomes one of a trio of companions who joins DG on her journey down the fabled Old Road that leads to the Mystic Man.

Tin Man will begin production this month in Vancouver for a December premiere.
