George Lucas' final prequel has amassed around $85 million in two days, which, if estimates hold, would inch past Spider-Man's $83.0 million as the biggest two-day haul on record. It is already the fourth highest grossing picture of 2005 and could unseat Hitch as the No. 1 movie by the end of its first week.
By Sunday, Revenge of the Sith should set the four-day record with over $150 million in the till. The previous benchmark was The Matrix Reloaded's $134.3 million.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith was released May 19th, 2005 and stars Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, Ian McDiarmid, Samuel L. Jackson, Jimmy Smits, Frank Oz, Anthony Daniels. The film is directed by George Lucas.
