Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson reunite for Resident Evil 5
Not only is he returning, he is bringing his wife, and star of the franchise, Milla Jovovich back for one more round as Alice. Sienna Guillory was supposed to come back as Jill Valentine, but word on the street is that she may be recast for this proposed prequel.
Casting is currently under way for the characters Barry Burton, a member of S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics And Rescue Service), and Leon Scott Kennedy, a U.S. Government agent.
Paul W.S. Anderson is hoping to shoot Resident Evil: Retribution as early as this October, with plans to get it into theaters by September 14th of 2012.
Resident Evil: Retribution comes to theaters September 14th, 2012 and stars Milla Jovovich, Sienna Guillory, Boris Kodjoe, Colin Salmon, Michelle Rodriguez, Shawn Roberts, Oded Fehr, Kevin Durand. The film is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson.

I don't think any of them are the best flicks ever made but like Swak1774, there are things I enjoyed in all of them and some things I didn't like so much in each as well. I also liked the first the best but everyone has there own tastes. Not everyone is going to agree about every movie ever made, and personally I don't care if everyone in the world hates a film and I love it. As long as I'm entertained for a couple of hours, I'm good and these films did that for me!

@swak1774 -- Are you serious? I haven't seen the latest edition, but the second one was far more superior than the first. The CGI was just horrible, the acting was bad, the twist was a joke. It didn't even feel like a Resident Evil movie. "Resident Evil: Afterlife" was nothing special, but it was the most enjoyable of the series. I won't even comment "Resident Evil: Extinction".... @rojodiablo -- Regardless, to each his own.

Haven't they always been together for the RE films? Either way... if wasnt for the name dropping like Jill Valentine or the T-Virus, you wouldn't even know it was an RE movie. Why couldn't he just make his own Alice movie w/o dragging in the RE stuff and ruining it for those who actually sat through the games? I mean he based the first one of Alice in freaking Wonderland!!!! As if there wasn't enough source material to follow. God i dislike him. He made up a character just so his wife could be in it. HE's doing it again in The Three Musketeers!

Well if they are reading this.... Paul: You're a hack director, and you've almost ruined Milla for me. I want my Fifth Element Milla back, not Resident Evil made up Alice Milla.
Milla: I'm glad you enjoy working with your husband, that's cool that y'all have both a personal and business relationship like that, but he's dragging your career down and typecasting the sh*t out of you.

Yo, everyone, out of all of the times you all keep saying this film needs a reboot (Which is the exact same thing I hear whenever the next sequel comes out. Been like that ever since the 2nd one came out), then it really never gets a reboot. All Anderson cares about is that people love the franchise, he doesn't care who hates it. So ya'll can keep saying "Reboot the damn franchise already!", but it's never gonna happen (It might one day, though, whenever Anderson makes one more to end the series), I actually love these movies aswell, and I will agree, the 4th is my favorite also.

As entertaining as some of them have been, after this one they need to end this Alice series (because that's what it is) and reboot it with Jensen Ackles as Leon Kennedy, Zoe Saldana as Sheva (she was great in The Losers), and Maggie Q as Ada Wong. This movie is supposed to be about zombies, and most of all SCARY like the first games.

The only way it can work is if you get Jill Valentine and Leon Kennedy go after Wesker in a prequel. Because if you noticed in Resident Evil Apocalpyse, Jill already had prior knowledge to the zombies and how to kill them. And yeah you could include Chris and Clair Redfield. If Paul W.S Anderson do this then this could be the best RE film of the series and the closet we can get to the videogame. But for the love of god keep Alice out of this film.

out of the directors of the resident evil movies, Anderson does the best. AFTERLIFE is my favorite of the movies. I like these movies. Yes, I wish they were more like the games (which are mainly scary), but dumb action movie/kicking zombie butt wise, these are still fun to watch. And those who want the series to be rebooted, patience. That time will come. Haha. Anyways, can't wait.
