Interesting Jill Valentine photo. I am wondering where her character arc will go.

@vampire2000 Yeah, actually I have to tell you I saw The Expendables 2 this weekend and saw a Resident Evil trailer and doc*mentary... It actually didn't look half bad! You can tell they are throwing a lot of game things in there! And yes, I have my Resident Evil 6 reserved and ready to go!

@mcleve02 I am knee-deep in Assassin's Creed-dom. I'll get to it at some point. Although with Tekken Tag Tournament 2 coming out next month, and then Resident Evil 6 a month after that, I'll be busy. Haha.

@vampire2000 can you say, f-ing epic! I would be all over that movie! Vamp if only you were close, I would make you come over and watch me play it so you can see the story!!!!! haha

@mcleve02 I've never been a fan of PlayStation. Aside from the original counsel, I guess. Oh well lol. I may play some day, but don't hold your breath. I'm not the gamer I once was. :P

Exactly. I think they should get the people behind the first Silent Hill film to try and helm a Dante's Inferno adaptation.

@vampire2000 haha I will give you online play if I can get past the fact that you have to play... But I will stick with my ps3 haha...

Everything you give screams Fallout! I won't stop bugging you until you try it! haha

It would be a true dark film the likes of which we haven't seen in a very long time! Unfortunately, it seems films touch more on the gruesome side of things than the story and fear!

@mcleve02 I'm sorry, dude. The 360 IS the real system. ;)

Anyhow, I would love to see a Dante's Inferno live-action adaptation. I mean, it's based on a play and everything, but I just meant adaptation from the game specifically. Them monsters, the different levels of hell, everything. It would be fantastic, and probably be one of those movies that, if done right, would knock audiences dead! Haha.

@vampire2000 mazon has it for 360 for $5 right now and if you play on the real system (ps3) I see it for 10! I am telling you, very awesome game! I love it for the depth of story... You will love the ghouls from the game!

It really would be a great film... I can only imagine how that film would be! I need to get on here and find it!

wow, the visuals that movie would bring to the tabel... you would definitely need to get people who are brilliant with CGI as well as being able to do as much as possible with that without it... would that be an epic film!

@mcleve02 I've heard many of these statements about the game. It sounds very interesting, my issue is I am not much of a gamer these days. What with how expensive games are and everything, it's hard to be able to play all the ones that look interesting.

Yes, Michael Fassbender announced interest in producing/starring in an Assassin's Creed film. I feel if they can get it right, the movie would be fantastic and do well with audiences.

Another game that would make a visually stunning and heart-breaking movie would be Dante's Inferno. It would be terrifying, action-packed, and all sorts of fun. I'm surprised no one's attempted a live-action version yet.

  10. THE JOKER

@vampire2000 You simply must play Fallout 3... Ron Pearlman is the narrator and Liam Neeson is one of the main characters... HUGE world... The story is very in depth, and extremely well thought out... basically WW3 happens and the world is destroyed.. the only people to have survived were those who made it to shelters (vaults) that were built during the Cold War days.. Since the vaults were filled with the music from that time period along with clothing and labels, that's the visual aspect you get from the game and a lot of music from that time period... along with a very hauntingly beautiful original score... one of the greatest SCORES of all time, not just in the video game world... basically your character leaves the vault and comes out to Washington DC... It is amazing how accurately laid out the map is... I live near DC and can tell you, from street, highway signs, building layouts... its creepy how accurate it is... You have people whom radiation has boiled their brains to basically be zombies... the game is pretty intense... Knowing your interests, I know you will really enjoy it!

I would love to see an Assassin's Creed movie... as long as they do it right.. I didn't even hear they were making one! haha

@mcleve02 I have never played Fallout, to be honest, so I have no opinion that would be viable to that respect.

Did you see the Tekken film? For how long that film was in production, I was really worried, but for the most part I was thoroughly impressed and enjoyed it a lot. The characters all looked like they should, the fighting was well choreographed, and the dialogue actually worked.

One video game-based movie I'm looking forward to is the recently announced Assassin's Creed movie. I'd love to see it, especially with Michael Fassbender behind it. He'd make a good Altair.

This movie is gonna be awesome. There will be too much slow motion to show off the 3d but aside from that it will be an awesome action movie.

It won't be a great resident Evil movie but it will be a good movie set in the Resident Evil universe.

It doesn't have a great story, but Resident Evil never had a great story. to begin with. Just a Japanese game developer trying to make a compelling zombie/survival horror game but that can't get the right writers to make it anything more than fun, funny, corny and comical at best. Which is why I prefer the movies to the games, do not despise the narrative and heavy leaning towards action.

    Cause I'm a realist.

  13. THE JOKER

@vampire2000 Its not my favorite of games, but I did play it before and thought it could be a cool movie haha... what if I hadn't beat Resident Evil 5 yet! You gave it all away! ;) Obviously just kidding there.

As far as 3-D, that has been really letting me down.. your right... They seem to be making things 3-D for the sake that it is 3-D... Marvel placed it beautifully... But everything else seems to just have it placed randomly in places that makes no sense.. Ghostrider was one of the worst I have seen recently as far as 3-D is concerned in my opinion... The action scenes were mainly 2-D and the slower moments to give us the calm was 3-D... horrible...

Now as far as video games to film, how would you feel about Fallout 3 being made into a movie... very dark, in depth story there..

  14. Vamp

@mcleve02 Never bothered with the Hitman movie, but then again I didn't care for the game that much.

Resident Evil has always been one of my favorite universes. I see the movies as a separate realm in the same universe. If that makes sense? Same villain and everything, just different turns or possibilities. I love both equally. Like I said, I was disappointed in Afterlife, but still enjoyed it quite a bit. After all Wesker vs. Chris and Claire was BLOW FOR BLOW the same battle that you see in that airplane hangar cutscene from Resident Evil 5 where Chris and Sheva take him on. THAT was fantastic to see choreographed.

My main wish for Retribution is that there is far less slow-mo and fewer moments made "just for 3D." If they could do what Thor and Captain America and The Avengers did, where they kept things normal, and used the 3D to enhance the experience and add depth to the movie, then it would be fantastic.

  15. THE JOKER

@vampire2000 Silent Hill was basically perfect... and I agree with especially the first one matching the game... Like I said, I will definitely see it and have an open mind... after all you need to! I just know I have been disappointed with most of them! Hitman had a couple of moments that looked straight out the game! haha... when they did shots from behind him as he walked, third person shooter game right there! I love looking for those things in films... its fun to find those influences and nerd out a bit!

  16. Vamp

@mcleve02 It does indeed make sense. However, I feel that the first couple movies captured the essence of the games. Not as well as 2006's Silent Hill did, but close. As in the first movie. Nice horror tones, very claustrophobic as the first game was. Then in Apocalypse, took the same horror to the streets of Raccoon, as did 2 and 3, while introducing a hint of action to it as well. And just as the games did, the movies took a hook towards action. I'm not saying the movies are perfect movies, far from it, but they are very fun movies, and actually one of my favorite series of all time. Afterlife was slightly disappointing, I'll admit, but Retribution is shaping up to be a really intriguing movie. Other than basic motions for it, I have no idea what to expect!

@vampire2000 This is why I have always loved discussing films with you all these years! I didn't think of clones... course I never read story plot details as I do want to be surprised!

As far as the game goes, I don't mean plot wise, as much as I mean feel wise... The feelings the game tapped into and the over all vibe you get from the videos games... Idk if that makes sense... haha

  18. Vamp

@mcleve02 I can understand that distaste, however if it were just like the games there'd be no element of surprise. You'd know most of the stuff. LOADS of people enjoy these movies. Otherwise they wouldn't be getting made still.

As far as Michelle, her character is set to be a clone. All the characters that are returning who've died recently (i.e. Michelle Rodriguez, Colin Salmon, and Oded Fehr) are clones. They all worked for Umbrella, a pharmaceutical company, so it makes sense to me that they would have files in their database on their blood work, including even samples. So clones of said characters are possible, especially since they've established cloning abilities already (not everyone's favorite plotline, but one I thought was fun). At THAT, bringing in these clones can emotionally screw with Alice, weakening her, in theory, so I can see why they would be brought in against her. Same with them having control of Jill now (just like in RE5), all to screw with Alice and finally stamp her out of existence, and more importantly, out of Umbrella's way.

  19. THE JOKER

@vampire2000 I think the majority reason for that is that it just seems to have no relation to the video games to people... They leave a lot of connection out... Or at least that is what gets me... And I just don't see how they will bring Michelle back to life... I will promise you Vamp that no matter how much I personally hate on a movie before it comes out, I will go see it with an open mind and try to appreciate what is happening.. I have still painfully sat through all the Twlight films! haha

At any rate, Jill is still looking as badass as ever! I'm really hoping they elaborate on where she's been since disappearing after Apocalypse. That's what I'm most interested in.
