Soooooooo first thought was....she's not saying Ada Wong....but Ada WRONG. Don't you love how your favorite franchise can get ruined every 3 years or so? You've grown up with something that you loved and then when they finally decided to bring it to life....it falls apart like an undercooked souffle'. First I felt as if Jensen Ackles should've played the part of Leon S. Kennedy (still do, don't care if his air is too short, he could do a great job) since Johann Urb looks like a happy Leon ready to give you 2 scoops of joy in the middle of a zombie apocalypse....what? Now Bingbing Li (who was nice in forbidden kingdom) is playing Ada....annnnnnnd I'm still not feeling it. if anything maggie q or someone else couldve done it. just a suggestion. not being serious. I wish that directors would make the world a better place by appealing to people who have experienced the actual games; Paul Anderson "claims" to be a fan of the Resident Evil franchise..... look at my face (-____________-) i don't think so. So how bout that pumpkin sp*ce latte at starbucks???

@bruce-ha i forgot to mention that my favorite games in the series were the Gamecube games. Zero and the remake of Res 1. They were beautiful games. The last of the old school Res Evil but i have to admit that 4 blew my mind when in arrived on the cube.

@bruce-ha I agree that those initial games were the awesome and all that talk of how clunky the "tank" like control were was actually sort of charming. I miss that and i really hope they will do a throw back game one day (with updated, more flowing controls). I know this will never happen. Shinji Mikami is an inovator and when he felt the series was stagnanting he stepped in and gave us REsident Evil 4, which despite its awesome action set pieces still had plenty of that creeping dread to go round while expanding the mythology of the series. I agree that 5 was too heavy on the action on light on scares but it has its place as far as i am concerned. Lets hope they listened to the fans tho.

In my mind they have done just that with the new game Racoon City coming out. Back to basics....the walkind dead.

I read that Shinji Mikami is getting out of the game directing buisness and starting his own production company. That sort of makes me sad BUT the man does know inovation so i expect he will hire only the best and he will still produce some great games.

@themoviefanatic unfortunatly i have a feeling people will flock to this one as well..."if you build it...they will come"

@skywise Totally agree, this franchise is probably one of the greatest in the videogame industry. It all started with Resi 1 and no one has topped that game in sheer horror and tension apart from Silent Hill franchise. The feeling of the narrow corridors and hallways and never knowing what's behind the corner.... gives me chills as we speak.

The newer games are to action oriented. The movies also. Too much emphasis on action scenes.

That's why i liked the first one so much. That movie was pure horror, and tension.

But i agree with you skywise... I want to love all of them but i only like the first one.

So glad they got Ada at least LOOKING the part. I have lost faith in these movies but...and this is hard for me to say, this could be...decent?

I want to love these movies but i am no fan of Anderson. But on the other hand its freakin Res Evil! Next to a few other long running game series these games have been among my favorites. And that is why i have such mixed feelings because as much as i want to love it, i only like it.

I love these movies for what they are. Glad they don't follow the game straight to the t but have some elements from them in each one.

@themoviefanatic Exactly, if Sony didn't see value in this franchise they wouldn't have funded for 3 sequels.

Yes, and If there was not that much of a demand for these movies meaning these Resident Evil movies, then there would be less of a chance of them being filmed and released.

  18. bruce_ha

@themoviefanatic That's the delight of the film industry, as long as there is an audience (even if we don't like these movies, i'm sure there are just as many who like it for what it is, a popcorn flick) they will keep making them. As everything should be, when there is a demand.. you produce.

As long as these movie make money every time they are released, they will keep on being filmed and then eventually released.

If i saw a zombie, id scream like alil bbitch, and hall ass, lol but in these films when a zombie pops out, they dont do anything. they start thinking of a way to kill it.

Theres nothing evil about these films, for me its all popcorn fun. And the truth..none of them scared me ever!, unlike the games and their lil creepy music, every corner zombie that would pop outof nowhere, And nomatter what character you were, he/she was NEVER a baddass. Whether you were a cop, a swat, or just a random person in these games, it was all about surviving. And boy there was nothing fun about that, it was more intense.
