I think they thought that people would be amused by the beginning of the trailer, because what is shown in that part of it. But honestly, that was just not put together well. What they should of done with it, was put a regular beginning in the trailer instead.

i love the resident evil serious from the last one it started to go in the right directions (despite the massive amount of slow mo) which pissed me off tho most..... they started to go in the direction of the video games of 4 and 5..... i just watched the first and second of these films yeah there are some cheesy ass parts but they are fun to watch... hell m just excited to see how michelle rodriguez's character ties into the movie cuz i swore i say her get shot in the head the other day in this movie but my guess is she is a clone like how they had soo many clone alice's in the last movie..... all in all this trailer could have been a hell of a lot better soo im not disappointed yet soo i will wait for the next trailer!

Dear Hardcore Resident Evil Fans...
As both a gamer and a film lover, I hate to be the one to say this, but the Resident Evil story from the games sucks as badly as the story in the movies, and more importantly sucks almost as much as the convoluted Metal Gear Solid story... The stories told in the games are about as enthralling as throwing a rock at a wall over and over.
I say that to say this, I'm tired of the whining. And because honestly, there are enough zombie films in history that were more horror than anything. I appreciate that this franchise took more of an action route because of this.
The movies aren't amazing by any stretch of the imagination but they are good fun entertaining flicks.

I just dont care anymore. If we live to see the next 4 years i would love to see this series rebooted and done right.

Doubles as a trailer and an advertisement. I think the third RE teaser was like this, too. Don't know if that's true for any of the others in the franchise.

@moviewiz001 Yeah, they always use that song. I remember they used it for the Avatar trailer too, and it always sounds great.
All movies use music from other soundtracks for the trailers, as well as music composed specifically for trailers. They're obviously never part of the soundtrack. I think the Tron song here fits very nicely.
The first part of the trailer is terrible, I thought somebody was trolling with a fake trailer. I don't mind product placement when it done tastefully like in Casino Royale where every single electronic is by Sony, but this makes absolutely no sense and is definitely the saddest attempt of product placement I've seen in years. Just a desperate attempt to sell their PSP VITA coming out this year...
These trashy Underworld/Resident Evil/Battleship-type movies are definitely lowering the bar for serious big-budget epic action films, like Rise of the Apes, Avatar or Prometheus (hopefully). Unfortunately they'll just keep coming strong as long as people keep buying tickets. Classic example of my love/hate relationship with Hollywood.

A reboot can save this movie, 100%. Im a hardcore resident evil fan, I may not like these films but i admit they are entertaining. The thing i hate about this movie (and i have lots of reasons) but 1 of being that i can not take them serioualy, other than just a popcorn summer/fall flick. The game on the other hand, is no laughin matter, those, you always gotta stay awake cause sumthing can kill you, lol. this whole sillyness of the film only workd on zombieland cause it was meant to b silly. RE however needs to be more scary than funny. but again. only a reboot can fix that. meanwhile i'll just kickback and enjoy watever the hell this guy gives us.

Solid trailer. One more to have a closer feel, as in characters, to the games. Interested in seeing a full trailer when it gets fixed to be released. But regardless that I think these films are entertaining, I think the only thing that can save this franchise is either a reboot, which many know I am no fan of, or a different direction. I like Alice, but rather see Chris, Leon, or others.

@ghostman @moviewiz001 Ever seen the Robocop trailer? It has The Terminator's theme for the trailer. And I miss the trailers when all you heard where choirs from Two Steps from Hell, Immediate Music, etc...

@ghostman I can't remember, but something else did. But most of the 90's movies always use soundtracks from other movies. The most used movie track (for a trailer) today is Steve Jablonsky's My Name is Lincoln from The Island.

@moviewiz001 What other movie trailer have you seen that used the Tron: LEgacy soundtrack besides this? Although the movie Deja Vu used the Saw theme in it's trailers and the actual movie.
@thedude-abides Right there with ya, thought that was an ad not the beginning of the trailer!

First off, video wasn't working, so had to view it on Yahoo! secondly, wtf is up with the corny ass opening? and thirdly, why the hell use Tron: Legacy's soundtrack from Daft Punk?! The movie is too terrible for them to be using such a great soundtrack from Daft Punk. OVerall, average teaser, hopefully a later one will be "better"

Sh*t teaser. And why the hell is Rodriguez back? Not only did she get wasted in the first--she's an obnoxious and stereotypical actress as well. Always gotta play the tough-as-nails-chick-that-takes-no-guff-from-nobody-'cuz-she's-a-strong-independant-woman.

What's with the sony phone, ps vita, tablet bit at the beginning? Resident Evil and the Umbrella Corporation has little to do with that kind of tech and more to do with medicinal and biological development.
Otherwise, it seemed on par with what we're used to see from Paul W.S. Anderson, illogical action scenes that have little to no meaning. Action action action!!! Nothing RE about it(not if you ask the true hardcore fans anyways).
