It's Paul that is ruining the films, he's not dark enough and nor is he loyal to the games.
I've watched the CGI film and it's a whole lot better than what Paul can do. I think that CGI R.E would be better in the long run and get some other directors to come on board.

Thank them for saving it Soylent. Not too many people who fear for the loss of Cinema were going to their much loved 2D movies in recent past, when movie revenue was faltering. Now an audience who can embrace the next level is saving cinema, and Hollywood is taking notice. If everyone is worried about 2D movies, they had better be willing to go out and fork out the cash as much as the 3D audience is. The audience wants another level of entertainment and environment for their dollar. People like what they like, don't fault them for it. I support the showing of 2D versions as well. Complainers of 3D do not reciprocate at all. Don't fear the new. I love being immersed in the 3D world, but I can also watch a movie at home on my seven foot screen and enjoy it just as well. I agree, that not every movie has to be in 3D, but is someone want's to see that version, what harm does it cause?

I knew a co-worker, in the past, who held a death grip onto his 300 or so cassette tapes of music he'd collected over the years, but when I told him how much better CD was (and heard for himself on my system), he completely changed his mind and started collecting all of his music on CD. He's spent about $3,000 by now and is glad I convinced him to. How would cinema be today, if everyone held that same death grip on, say Stereo, or traditional full screen display of yesteryear? It wouldn't be the epic widescreen display we love and might become bland after a while. Everything advances. One day, there will be Holodecks, like in Star Trek. If a person can only accept 2D movies, there are plenty of DVDs for them to collect. Or if they prefer, VHS.

Most movies aren't even shot with traditional "film" these days either. Everything is digital. Why isn't everyone complaining about not seeing that nostalgic flicker on the screen that we loved so much, when watching a theater run of a film?

Looks like sh*t, just like every other Paul W.S. Anderson film.

And they are really pushing this 3D craze as far as they can. I think we can thank Jim Cameron for killing cinema, or should we thank the American viewing audience?

After watching the trailer a couple more times, I had some thoughts...

I don't mind that they aren't following the video games storylines and doing their own thing, as long as I'm entertained, that's fine. At first I was kind of bothered by that, but I've decided I don't care, it's just a movie. If the producers and makers of the video games have no objections, then I have no objections.

I am happy to see that Wesker will be the main antagonist this go round, he was my favorite villain from the series. And Resident Evil wasn't just about the zombies, there was a variety of monsters in them, I can see from the trailer that their expanding on that, which I like. And Milla and Ali are hot together, so I can't argue with that, either.

herione32, you're asking if WE'RE stupid? That paragraph in which you ask that question says everything.

And Dragonball bites the big one. I think the career of that kid (Justin Chatwin) from War of the Worlds is over, just when it was getting started, thanks to Dragonball Evolution. I think that that movie went to DVD the day after it was released!

Jimthar, you just re-iterated what some of the people hear already said, including myself. Not that I disagree, but that's what we're saying.

  23. Jimthar

granted i thought it looked pretty cool and i'll probably go see it. but for all of you who are expecting this to be a ''real'' RE movie, you might as well just give it up already. this series is so far off the RE track that it's not even funny. so please stop bitching. you all know it so either go see it or dont. but stop crying about it.
i did find it amusing how they threw in the PLAGAS though since they never really explained how they got there. wasnt that in RE4? (the game) now if you ask me, here's what they need to do for the RE movie series.

    1. complete reboot
    2. make the game RE4 into a movie. it was and is the best game in the series and would make a great film
    3. get over the 'alice' character. thats where the whole series went wrong by having the same person in all the movies. i think they're spreading it too thin and need to explore what some other people in the world are doing to fight the problem. like chris redfield, etc.
    4. make it horror, not action. i think these movies would be better if they were straight up scary horror films. the series is too focused on being a slick action series that it's kind of missing the point.

after this new one they seriously need to scrap the ALICE storyline and reboot the series. I ACTUALLY LIKE THESE MOVIES BUT EVEN I'M GETTING TIRED OF SEEING ALICE. if they can reboot fantastic 4 and spider man, they can surely reboot RE.

thats how i see it anyway.

Well unknown21, I was looking forward to part 3 until it didn't have Jill, or the girl from part 2, because she had the t-virus like Milla and that would have been a cool storyline to follow. So... "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me".

Darkened, I don't even think that they got it right with the first one. Yeah, it was better than the other ones, but one plus zero is still zero! What I really HATED about part 2, was all of those annoying wooshing sounds of kicks and punches that Milla made whenever she beat the crap out of anything. That got old real quick. It was waaaaaaaaay campy and lame. And the reporter should have lived! It sucked when she got eaten, but I guess that's just me.

I heard a similar wooshing sound, when one of the Borgs was activated and turned his head on Star Trek: First Contact. Lame!

Resident Evil 3 was Batman Forever, and this one is Batman and Robin. What we really need is "Resident Evil Begins"!

Well then casshern76, if you don't care what WE think, We won't watch it, like you suggest. BUT, if you don't care what WE think, you can either not read what WE post, or just don't comment about what WE post, because WE now know what you think, and WE don't care what you think. How does it feel knowing that someone doesn't care what you think? Food for thought. Every opinion is worth hearing. Don't take it personally. We're only pissed because it's not living up to what we want it to be, because we know it could be so much more, and not like Avrahama said, as it being a lot of "tuff girl bullsh*t", which is not the creepiness we remember from the games.

By the way, let's see how fast this one goes to DVD. "WOOP, there it goes, WOOP, there it goes".
