Resident Evil: Afterlife Moves Forward

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Resident Evil will rise again. Constantin Film and Davis Films are reteaming to produce Resident Evil: Afterlife, the third installment of the sci-fi/horror franchise based on the apocalyptic video game, it was announced Friday at the American Film Market.

German-based Constantin and Samuel Hadida's Davis Films also partnered on the previous chapters. Screen Gems scooped up distribution rights for North America, Latin America, the U.K., Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Portugal, South Africa, India and Pakistan. Summit Entertainment is repping the film at the market for the remaining international territories.

Resident Evil: Extinction was released September 21st, 2007 and stars Milla Jovovich, Oded Fehr, Ali Larter, Iain Glen, Ashanti, Christopher Egan, Spencer Locke, Matthew Marsden. The film is directed by Russell Mulcahy.
